Apple & ITunes More charges after buying ipod Nano Internet

I agree with a previous writer regarding the directions given on the apple.com/ipod/start to download and install iTunes. The directions are awful! I spent at least 2 hours trying to figure out what I was supposed to do! I went around in circles until I wound up in a members box and thought I had to subscribe to the membership in order to get myself going with the Nano. Now I have spoken to people who told me I didn't have to do that. They should make that clear in some way with the directions. Ipod doesn't give you any directions about the iTunes download as if they want you to fall prey to the charge for being a member. I guess Mr. Jobs doesn't make enough money.
Someone should review this process and add more directions to the online manual to walk you through the process of iTunes. Not everyone is a computer whiz! I have my expertize on the computer but have never seen such a complicated process as iTunes. And that is comparing it to creating thematic maps and intricate excel spreadsheet!!
Someone please tell iPod to do something about this!! I got ripped off by iTunes for almost $50.
