I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM APPLE SAYING THEY REMOVED MY POST ABOVE. "We’ve removed your post Re: iPad Mini Overheating because it contained either product feedback or feature requests." NO IT DIDN'T ! APPLE LEAVE YOU WITH NO WAY TO COMPLAIN!

I had the same problem twice! Still under warranty my Ipad mini was on charger durning the night. In the morning it was very hot and would not start again. I took it in to Apple store they replaced it gave me 3 months more warranty and 4 months later the EXACT same thing happened to the new mini. Now they say there is "NOTHING" they can do about it? This is clearly a design or manufacturing flaw. Apple needs to recall this product. I am now going direct to Apple to see what they propose to do. A full refund or a normal Ipad. I will only take a new mini if they can show they have fixed this flaw! Anybody else interested in pursuing this with Apple?

When you try to contact Apple they have set it up ON PURPOSE that there is no way to complain via the net.  You can not find an email address for their legal department nor a complaints desk.  Here I have just purchased two expensive items.  Two Ipad mini's and I can't get answer to my questions as there is no way to ask the company a question.

You are absolutely correct.  I get guys on the phone like him all the time.  They always like to assume they know more than the people who work there. 


To the original poster:

1.  If the update wasn't available when you called, we couldn't have told you to download it.

2.  You can always do a backup, iTunes or iCloud.

3.  Every time you call, you WILL get a different person.  You are not assigned a specific tech.

4.  Since your report was rather scattered, I can understand getting different answers if you described the problem two different ways.  Techs can only go by the info you give them.  If you leave stuff out they can only tell you what to do based on what you've said.


I hope you treat people better verbally than you communicate in written word.
