got this card and right off did not like it. paid it off or so i thought. got another bill for $54.52. said i had a monthly charge of $10.90 and if i do not pay it on time i get a $35 late fee. no bill until after it is too late. the last bill i got was mailed out on the 7th with a due date of the 8th and i received it on the 10th , so according to them i am late.

i sent a letter with the bill and got a "nice"response from meryl beard of the customer service dept. she said they are not responsible for delays in the united states postal service. excuse me they mailed it out late. she said it is my responsibility to make sure my payment by the 5th of the month because that is my due date. now is it the 5th or the 8th of the month? also i am to allow 7-10 working days to get my payment in on time regardless of when the billing statement gets to me.

now before i go ahead any i have to admit i was really stupid. i thought if i paid this ahead i could still use it on vacation. well stupid. i will pay it off again if i can ever keep up with the billing statement. how can i know what the monthly payment is until i get the bill. there is a toll free number if you want to pay but if you want to ask a question or complain the number is long distance and the options are 50 cent each. these calls could be very costly esp if they put you on hold. how can this be legal and why doe the law do something to stop them.

I have never had a problem

AUTHOR: Brandy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 20, 2006

I have had this credit card for about 1 year. I have never had a problem.

They do have a website. There is a fee of $6.95 to pay that way. However, the website address is www.appliedcardbank.com

I have never had a problem with anything. I know that my payments are due on the 8th of every month. I always send in my payments by the 26th of the month before. They always post to my account in a timely manner.

I used to work as a customer service rep for a credit card company. Whether or not you get a bill, the payment is always due.

Also, with credit cards being a revolving account and not an installment account you are not able to make a big payment and not make another payment for 2 months. It doesn't work that way and it clearly states that in the terms and conditions of the application.

If no one reads those I strongly suggest that you start!

Do they offer an online account view site?

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 18, 2006

Do they offer an online site where you can
1. Review you full statement, including pending charges;
2. Then support your issuing an electronic check to pay the account?

Based ion your story, if there are no online capabilities then close the account ASAP.

If there ARE online capabilities then you should be able to pay early enough to clear it, and simply stop using it. I would still close the account.

Visit some banks. See if you can join a credit union. Many of your local institutions will offer reasonable CC deals, especially regional and local banks.

You can contact your state banking folk about the date on the envelop and statement w/r/t the due date.... but I would treat this as a side issue.
