ripoff.... predatory lending practices.... I missed 1 payment in October or November of 2005 and within 2 months my payment balooned from about 60.00 to a minimum 320.00. I closed the account myself and was offered a "hardship program" whereas all late fees and recurring interest, maintenance fees, annual fees (note all the fees ON TOP of the 175.00 you already owe them when you receive your card)were suspended and all I had to pay was 35.00 per month for 6 months (I planned on paying off the approximate 600.00 balance within the 6 months. The problem I have is (1)my statements reflect nothing about the hardship program, as a matter of fact, they keep charging me late/over limit fees to my statement because I've paid only the required minimum 35.00 per month so far. I get calls at least 7-8 times daily on my cell phone from them with blocked numbers and they rarely leave a message on my voicemail (i don't answer blocked numbers on my cell, most people don't because the minutes are money)by the legal department claiming my acct is in default (which it is NOT, I CLOSED THE ACCT NOT THE LENDER)threatening to take legal action, but if I call THEM at cust. service they show the hardship on their screen and for me not to worry, just pay the 35.00 and everything will be ok........but they can't give me an acceptable answer of what my payoff is......after 145.00 in payments on an acct where all fees and interest are suspended that had an approximate 600.00 balance when I agreed to go into this program, it seems to me that 600.00-145.00=455.00........they claim that my balance is almost 700.00!! They motion through the phone calls with the skill that an NFL quarterback would have at taking a snap from center, meaning I CAN'T POSSIBLY be the only person going through this! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK I DON'T CARE HOW BAD YOU WANT TO REBUILD CREDIT THEY WILL ONLY MAKE YOUR SITUATION WORSE IN NO TIME AT ALL!!! They also claim that THEY closed my account and thats what my Credit Report will be reflecting.
