Ripoff Report Verified REVIEW:

EDitors UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to APX Alarm for its commitment to excellence in customer service.

Ripoff Reports discussions with the company have uncovered an ongoing commitment to total customer satisfaction. You can expect to have any questions or concerns that you have with them to be answered and resolved in a timely manner. They have shown us their customer service process, and it reflects a desire to serve customers, as well as fix problems.

The company's management specifically told us about how their job is to simplify lives and help people to live intelligently. The management really wants every person who buys a system to feel valued. The concern for each customer's experience starts at the top, and is reflected in the action of every employee they hire.

The company also works to monitor their sales and customer support calls to see how they can be improved. They use these calls as examples for employees in training. Currently, Vivint is working to make changes to their contracts to make things easier for their customers as they have found that many of their complaints stem from feeling misled or customers paid fees they did not feel they authorized.

NOW TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED

----------------------------------- APX ALARM ANSWERS The REAL Truth, I've been on the inside Provo Utah

Not exactly a ripoff report, but as I read so many complaints about the ethics of this company, knowing firsthand the people they hire, I agree with all complaints 100%.

I have worked for the company for two years, and will probably work a third at this rate. I am a poor college student trying to make an honest buck, and this job allows me to provide a service for people really needing protection, with good compensation. I have been pressured many times by managers and regional managers to be pushier in my sales approach. Daily meetings were about getting people to sign the contract quickly and covering our butts against honest questions.

I have heard employess brag about lying to customers saying they could cancel anytime, etc. I know people that have run deseased people's credits in order to set up the system. There is a curteousy call made at the end of the sale to go over the contract agreements. It's intended to cover the companys butt when someone calls in and says that they didn't know this or that. Many salesmen pretend to be the customer, answering recorded conversations of yes and no to finalize the contract terms. Many salesmen forge signatures. So many times the opportunity has presented itself for me to make a quick buck by basically lying, but I couldn't do what these guys were doing. I don't make as much as some of the big dogs, as the more you sell troughout the summer moves you up the payscale. These guys just want you to keep the system until January when they have received their final check from the company. They seem to not care that people's lives are easily damaged by a negative experience such as this.

Because I am so fed up with the ethics of people they hire, I AM SO WILLING TO ANSWER ANY INSIDE QUESTIONS THAT COULD HELP YOU CANCEL YOUR CONTRACT, ETC.

The company publicly looks down on these guys, but behind close doors they are worshiped.

OK...don't stop now! Help we who were lied to and deceived get out of this mess!

AUTHOR: Greg - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 13, 2008

Thank you for your honesty and obvious high personal code of ethics. Your parents should be proud of you, as you should be of yourself.
My wife and I both fell for the salesmans line of crap. He was VERY good at the art of deception.

In my case, if you haven't read it yet, APX simply couldn't install the Vista system which was supposed to be able to handle all of my homes pre-existing hardwired sensors and switches. To tell you the truth, I don't think a Vista panel even exists!

I'm not saying I want out of a legal contract because I have buyers remorse. I AM saying I do NOT like being lied to and deceived. The price isn't too bad so it isn't that either. I wanted what the system I worked out with the salesman BEFORE I signed a contract.

If you have inside information that can help people; start typing. There's plenty of room in the forms on this site to say as much as you need to.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know not EVERYONE in that company is a lying POS. Good luck with college and your future young man.

First of all, I am not for or against Apx and the way business is done there. However, I am from Utah and know the industry real well. I do not work for Apx.
Apx and other alarm companies are doing a great thing. Alarm systems are a huge value to your home and to your family.

Thanks to the yuppie who claims to have all the answers. All this guy is doing is leading ya'll on. And making his company look terrible in the mean time. He is promising you to help you and then no follow through. This would just be something else to moan and whine about when it comes time to pay the bill.

If you want something done, figure it out. Do what any other smart consumer would do. Research and negotiate.

I sympathize with some of your situations, however, please keep in mind, you didn't have to buy from anyone. No one forced you to sign a contract, and get your alarm system installed.

You had three business days to cancel. Why didn't you do it then? If a rep promised you the world why wouldn't you have recorded it on the signed contract. If you fell victim it was most likely because you weren't on your "A" game, paying attention to details. When a sales person, where ever and whom ever sales you something they expect you miss details. Unfortunatly that is the way economics work. You the consumer are responsible for asking questions, getting facts, getting promises in writing.

The lot of the guys selling have an enormous amount of integrity and would most likely help if asked. I am not going to promise you anything and I certainly am not going to take "on your case", I will offer this wisdom though,

If it sounds to good to be true, get it in writing. Every detail, every fact, every question and answer. These guys knock doors and have the time to sit down and be completly honest, if not, and he seems rushed, rush him out of your house.

Don't be fooled by empty promises, take the reigns in your hand and control your own wagon.

Hi, Ok the rep is Kurtis Badger, my system was installed 7/5/07 and the last 4 #'s are 8818, strange street name. I have called and called the rep and he won't return my calls. He did indicate to me that he going for the "gold" in sales(not exact words). I told him over and over again that I was not working and that I have a little daughter to raise. He just kept pushing and pushing and he told me that he would pay the first 3 months and that maybe I would have a job by then to continue paying. He sent 1 money order and it was late. Never sent the other 2. He said it was worth it to him to do this for me to get the sale. I was hoping to have a job to continue. He knew all along what was going to happen, but his money and position was the priority. That worm better get what he has coming to him...bad things happens to bad people. Unfortunately, I'll never know what does happen. At least I am a believer. He said I would be able to cancel and all the lies that I have read on other reports. I know that doesn't account for much, but it happened. When I spoke to Mr. Gomez (super) I told him I want to make payment arrangements because I couldn't afford it any longer he said it couldn't be done to pay full amount and that I would only be able to talk to the payment dept. I am trying to sell my house and I don't live in it. He said I couldn't speak to anyone else and that I would probably be charged another $1500 and if I didn't pay it would go to collections, which I'm sure it is more by what I have read on other postings. I told him I have a little girl to raise and he said "don't play the sympathy card with me". From what I read they tape every conversation. I hope you can hear for yourself as I pleaded with him and how he treated me back. Then I made another call a few minutes later to make arrangements to give back the equip. and he said to just throw it away. It added up to about $1800. I just want this monkey off my back. This alarm doesn't even work properly either. I'm so angry! I'll NEVER do anything this stupid as long as I live. Thanks so much for your time!!

unfortunately it won't matter that there wasn't a permit obtained for your area. i'm not sure what you mean by "i got my alarm back on..." can you explain what happened just a little bit. if there was something not done according to procedure we might have something. if you can give me the day you were set up (sold), the last 4 digits of your land line phone number (or if you have a cell unit installed since there is no home phone, the primary cell number used), and just the initials of the account holder, i can look things up on my own. also, the sales rep's name would be great. just a last name would be okay. good chance we can get things figured out for ya.
