Ripoff Report Verified REVIEW:

EDitors UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to APX Alarm for its commitment to excellence in customer service.

Ripoff Reports discussions with the company have uncovered an ongoing commitment to total customer satisfaction. You can expect to have any questions or concerns that you have with them to be answered and resolved in a timely manner. They have shown us their customer service process, and it reflects a desire to serve customers, as well as fix problems.

The company's management specifically told us about how their job is to simplify lives and help people to live intelligently. The management really wants every person who buys a system to feel valued. The concern for each customer's experience starts at the top, and is reflected in the action of every employee they hire.

The company also works to monitor their sales and customer support calls to see how they can be improved. They use these calls as examples for employees in training. Currently, Vivint is working to make changes to their contracts to make things easier for their customers as they have found that many of their complaints stem from feeling misled or customers paid fees they did not feel they authorized.

NOW TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED

APX Alarm Security Solutions Another ripoff by APX and its cleancut college student salesmen Provo Utah

My report reads like all the others. I was approached by APX's cleancut college students during a crime wave in our neighborhood in June of 2008. They would install a Honeywell alarm system for free if I allowed them to put signage on my property, but I could not tell my neighbors I had received free equipment and installation. Before the ink was dry, an installer was at my door and appeared to have done a good job. When he left, theoretically the system was functioning.

While away for a weekend in September, I came home and my telephone was not working. The Verizon serviceman who came to repair it said that the alarm system had shorted out my phone. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the only way he could make my phone work was to disconnect the alarm system.

In November I received a courtesy call from APX and advised them I was receiving a check system code. Upon checking my system APX advised they were not receiving a signal. (Shouldn't they have known that before?) They scheduled a serviceman to come out the following Saturday between noon and 3:00. He showed up at 3:15, worked on the system and stated it was in working condition. I don't know how. I picked up the phone to use it after he left, and once again, my phone was not working. I used a cell phone to call APX right back. For almost a half an hour they gave me a run-around and finally told me there were no technicians available to come out until Monday afternoon. I was without a phone for another 48 hours, which meant I was also without an alarm system.

The technician came out around 3:00 Monday, worked on the system (using a lighter on the wires) and once again said it was working. In less than 24 hours I had no phone again.

When the Verizon serviceman came out on Wednesday, he said he had never seen an alarm system installed as this one was. The shortcuts taken by the APX technicians were the reason my phone shorted out. In addition, the APX technicians had so mutilated the phone system that the phone jack had to be replaced -- the wires were cut and burned beyond repair.

I am now receiving dunning calls and mail from APX -- I cancelled the card on which they were taking my payments. I have paid for at least 3 months of service I never had, and because of their incompetence, I am not certain I ever had an alarm system.

Caution: do not allow any cleancut college sales representative for APX into your home. Under no condition should you agree to an alarm system installed by APX. It is all a scam, and you will regret it. I would be happy to have them come and take their equipment, but I am concerned about the damage they would do in removing it.

Human Error

I completely understand where you are coming from. The technician did a horrible job of fixing your alarm system.

I don't see, however, why the whole company is blamed for this technicians error.
It's obviously a bad employee to blame. I have an apx alarm and I love it. The customer service is awesome. They always make sure someone comes out quickly or fix it over the phone. Yeah sometimes problems occur but they make sure i know about it and fix it asap.

I feel much more protected now with this alarm system and I got it for free too. Sorry about your bad experience but that doesn't make the company a scam.

System

AUTHOR: Truth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 06, 2009

The truth is the system does not belong to the company! When you sign the contract you have 3 days to cancel at which point the company can get their system back, however after the 3 days you have been given a free system and have agreed to pay for the contract. The truth is that no matter, working or not you are still in a contract. I have spoken with several lawyers about contracts for security companies and they have advised many people to watch out for security contracts. Security contracts are some of the most binding and potentially life altering contracts. However once you have the system in your home for more than 3 days it is yours

Let them take the equipment

AUTHOR: Inspector - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 09, 2009

It belongs to them, you only lease it. However, I doubt that they will. They will continue to seek monies owed on the contract you signed. They will also effect your credit.

You can remove the equipment and put it in a box for them if you do not want them in your house.
