Shame in the owner of the Akita for having a male and female unaltered pair together. ITs not rocket science to know what will happen.  Why isn't the vets report published to show the extent of the dogs vetting? The authors story is full of things that don't make sense.  If you can't afford to vet your dog, you shouldn't have one.  Sounds to me like the dog is in a much better place with a reputable rescue and the chance of having an owner who is able to take care of the dog.  Sounds to me like the dogs owners were irresponsible in many ways.

I never said where I had gotten the dog and for how much! As for the "NEW" family dog, We had our boy for 4 years, He had lost his mini companion so we got him another.

"Eventually, she pushed out a dead puppy, possibly another, then continued to "push" for several days. By the middle of the week, a woman posted on Facebook the story of her granddaughter’s Akita who had "dark greenish/black, horribly foul smelling goop" coming from her vulva and the dog had already birthed at least one dead puppy. Countless people urged the grandmother: tell her granddaughter to get the dog to the vet and/or take the dog to a vet herself before the dog died a horribly painful death. After a few days of this nonsense, the grandmother wrote that "the dog had been taken to a vet and the vet said that “all was well” and the dog could go back home and continue to push the remaining puppies out naturally and without medical intervention"

When exactly did she push out a dead puppy? It was friday August 22nd 2014! That was the same day that I called the rescue! As for the "greenish/ black ghorribly foul smelling goop" I have the comments on facebook and know what I saw that in fact it was to tiny drops of green that had NO smell to that I was concerned about! I took her to the vet on August 21st 2014 and was told that she was not even in labor yet, that it should start within 5 hours but no more that 24 hours!

Before she "died in the backyard"? Its funny how many lies are in this story. She was in my home, NOT in my backyard! I set up a whelping area for her in my master bedroom closet then moved her to my master bedroom bathroom, I let her lead me to where she wanted to go because i knew that dogs choose where they want to have them! I have pictures of these as well! Everything else in the end of that sentence is a complete lie! NONE of that was EVER said! Why would someone call for help while wanting to kill their animal?!?! I mean come on!!!! 

"The infection caused from the dead and decaying puppy was so severe the vet would not perform an emergency C-section on her late Friday afternoon for fear she would not survive the surgery. She was given high doses of intravenous antibiotics and fluids to rehydrate her and was stabilized overnight. On Saturday morning, August 23, the surgeon’s calendar was cleared and she was rushed into emergency surgery.

Several hours later the vet emerged. Due to the extent of internal damage caused by the massive infection, much of the dog’s internal reproductive organs and tissues were removed. She is spending at least one more night in the hospital as she recovers from this major, emergency surgery which was so painful and unnecessary. It could have been avoided had the owner taken the dog to the vet and been given the medical care she so obviously needed."

I seriously call BS on all of this! Doesn't it sound ultra dramatic?!?! Like I had said, She was at her vet on August 21st 2014.

Her name is Seven! she got her name because she has the shape of a white 7 on her chest!

Like i said, they tell bogus storys to get donations! There is not a single person that I know that would ever support this!

On Friday, Aug. 22, Alleys Rescued Angels, aka, ARA Rescue Inc. contacted Akita Angels seeking collaboration to rescue and assist this Akita before she died in the backyard of this high desert home. Through countless postings on Facebook and text messages with volunteers from both organizations, the granddaughter/owner of the dog made it clear that she hated the dog and would not take it to the vet and if it required a C-section she wasn't going to do it. ARA Rescue agreed to pick up the dog and remove it from the owner’s property provided the owner legally relinquish the dog, in writing, to the rescue, which they did upon arrival. The dog was swiftly rushed straight to a trusted vet and examined. An ultrasound and x-ray confirmed there was a dead puppy remaining inside the dog in one of the horns that had been decaying and decomposing for days and was the obvious source of the blackish/green sludge coming from the dog’s vulva. *WARNING - GRAPHIC PHOTOS*

We named her Mercy.  Her name means “compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, an enemy, or other person in one's power; compassion, pity, or benevolence.” We think her name fits.

We will not get engaged in answering all of these erroneous and slanderous ramblings from one young person who, for some reason, is now 'angry'. This woman, who we have never named, signed a relinquishment document after her female dog became pregnant, the result of owning and keeping both an unfixed male and an unfixed female in her backyard.  We did not seek out to take the female dog, we were contacted by this youngster's grandmother with a plea... 

The plea was " this dog has been in labor for 5 days and has birthed a dead puppy" 

Our organization operates in full transparency.  Our mission is not to pay the medical costs for privately owned dogs or to steal dogs...there are over 300 huskies a month in the shelters that we work with...our mission is to save as many of them as we can.

We are truly at a loss as to why this woman is being so vindictive.

She relinquished her pregnant dog who had been in labor 5 days. Was birthing dead pups and still had a decaying fetus in her body.

As an animal rescue organization when we are approached with a situation like this, we act. We paid for an emergency C-section. We did not ask for any money. We did not pass on the medical bills. We did not name the owner who had caused this situation.

We are a small, but highly regarded, 501c3 non-profit organization. Our reputation is stellar. We could post all of the documentation that we have regarding this person but the relinquishment form she signed has her name and signature on it and as we have had the grace to not identify this woman. She on the other hand has created a work of fiction upon Ripoff Report.

Ripoff Report is a very clever Search Engine Optimized site which quotes as its disclaimer "The Ripoff Report is a non-substantiated source of information" In order to have this inflammatory nonsense removed they expect us, a non-profit, self funded, 100% volunteer ran rescue to pay $2000 to Ripoff report to have these lies removed from their site. And as a result of this, one strangely vidictive person has been given a forum to spout.
