Beware of this company!! I signed up for Arise full well understanding that I would have to pay a fee to train for one of thier clients. BUT, no one could have possibly predicted until you work for this rip off company that shortly down the line your "metrics" AKA, your performance will cause you to be terminated. It took a little while for this to sink in, unfortunately after paying for a possible job with a few companies. I noticed that all of a sudden an "Opportunity" would show up on their site. I was truly confused why they would be calling for MORE agents when people couldn't even get enough hours to meet their minimum "SOW", service agreement. How can you hire more people when you can't keep the ones you have busy? Arise is so un-responsive it is rediculous. You have to put in a request for help if you are in a jam BUT there is no one to help you. The end result is that your metrics suffer so your performance suffers and you are terminated. Their systems go down alot and they blame you for that also. I should have known better when I paid for a class, this is a scam. You might work, BUT not enough to make a living. MAYBE a few do, but for the vast majority all you have to do is look around at some of the websites for people working at home to see how angry Arise agents are over not getting enough hours or being terminated due to their metrics. I FINALLY figured it out what is going on with this company. They lure you in, you pay for a class, you might qualify, go to work and then get no hours. They put up a request for more agents and the cycle continues. The result of this is that Arise makes TONS of money for classes full well knowing that people will get annoyed and quit and if they don't, no problem, Arise will figure a way to get rid of them so they can have another class and make money that way. The classes cost on an average of $200 upward. You are in virtual school for many weeks and at then might not even qualify to go to work. To add insult to injury IF you get a job you have to pay Arise a fee every 2 weeks. The joke is you might not even get any hours so you end up paying Arise and work for FREE! This is a scam plain and simple. You have no recourse or rights. BEWARE!!!!

lies

AUTHOR: 85719 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, July 09, 2011

for every complainer there are thousands of happy agents huh? This is a bold-faced lie....I had 40 people in my class 4 months ago and I am the only one out of the 40 working the client.  And guess what?  I am not a happy camper....and it's because of Arise and not the client.  Arise is great for people with little professional experience or who are desperate.  I would say it's 50-50 at best

You want some cheese with that whine...??

AUTHOR: Ruthie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 06, 2009

Spare me I am FED UP with the whining. Maybe you should spend the same amount of time focusing on your work as opposed to throwing around lies and false accusations. I am NOT an employee of Arise! I AM an educated, successful small business owner now you know what one looks like.  For the record, Arise is not my only small bsiness endeavour.  I can see how this can be confusing to some...  let me know if I need to slow down...

Hour reductions are the result of client request, but if you want to sit there with time scheduled and NO calls, have at it honey.  You can sit there all day for all I, or anyone else, cares.

Successful agents will hold more than one certification for this very reason... you should never, ever put all of your eggs in one basket... thats business 101.

That advice is free... ENJOY it!

A lady from my church worked for Arise....

AUTHOR: Msrose2008 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 13, 2009

I've never worked for Arise, but a while back I thought about it. The only problem back then was that money was already tight for me, so I couldn't pay what was needed to get onboard.

That being said, the representative who I spoke with from Arise made everything crystal clear over the phone. I knew should I choose to pursue it, I would be employed as an Independent Contractor.

There was no confusion whatsoever about what was expected. I simply didn't have the money at the time to pursue it.

Any other information I needed I got from a lady who goes to my church. She has been with Arise for a few years and not once has she ever made any negative statements about them.

I personally believe that they're legit. But it's just like any other work at home job or work-at-home business, you have to put time and effort to see results. In addition to that, some work at home jobs or opportunities are suitable for some, and not suitable for others because of the work involved.

Like whether it's phone work, data entry, sales, etc...

To the Op, don't feel bad if your experience wasn't the best. It simply means that Arise wasn't for you. Look around on the web for other opportunities that are legit that will allow you to work from the comfort of your own home.

There's been quite a few I've came across, but I'm real with myself. Anything I can't afford to do or feel reluctant about doing based on the nature of the job, I pass it up.

And let me that I disagree with you when you claimed that the others who posted positively about Arise are insiders.

Just like I stated earlier, a lady from my church has been with Arise for years and is quite happy and content. So yes, there are people that are happy with their experiences.

And before anyone accuses me of being an insider too, plz read this whole thing through. I am simply voicing my feelings.

-Thanks

You know nothing of me.

AUTHOR: Ruthie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 29, 2009

You have got to be kidding me. So, because I do not share your view, I MUST be internal, I can not possibly be an agent, right? I am going to use your logic and claim you are an internal employee of another work at home company. Why not..? Isn't that what you are doing on here..? It is on the internet, so it must be true!

You are entitled to your opinion as I am entitled to mine.

Where are these MANY people you speak of? There are less than ten listings here so of the thousands of agents, less than 1% have this view. Quick, call the Times!!!!

It appears as though there are a few who have decided to speak for the masses. I have been to many W@H sites and the banter there is no more negative about Arise than it is about any other company. I have worked for West (pay stinks), Alpine (set schedules) and a few others- none of these companies are perfect. Nobody here is saying it is perfect- I certainly AM NOT- but just because you do not like them does not make them a rip off nor does that give you the right to speak for ME or anyone else.

Yes, there are times when it is slow- does Arise control the economy..? If so, I did not get this memo. The vast majority of clients are retail based. I have had MANY times when I had some SLIM pickings for hours. This is why I ALWAYS held more than one certification to make up for it. As a full time agent, I currently hold three. Retail slow? OK- work more roadside assistance.

There is no such thing as being terminated for no reason / stupid reasons. You are either meeting and doing what you are supposed to be or you are not. What is so confusing about this? I have been around for AWHILE and of all those who have come to me to complain about being wrongfully' terminated usually end up admitting to poor quality, they hung up on a customer or were not able to get logged in on time on a regular basis. Again, there is ALWAYS a reason they may just not be telling you what it is.

Arise does NOT take the fee if you are not working- are you this new? So many claim to understand the model, how it all works only to later scream victim later on. If you are THAT unsure, people need to research before hitting the apply now' button.

This is GREAT advice for Arise as well as pretty much anything in life.

Ok, now I KNOW you are internal with Arise!

AUTHOR: Ripped Off In Florida - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 28, 2009

How do you explain the fact that people who work with Arise cannot get their minimum SOW? If you are required to give 15 hours but can only get 3 or 4, are you not penalized? Explain the "cap" on hours and how you can't get even that with many clients. I am no dummy, I can see that this company is going down hill. IMO when a company constantly certifies new people, takes their money for classes and THEN cannot give them the hours they need to make a living or even make the requirements the company DEMANDS, something is wrong! No matter how you slice it, there is a major problem going on here. By the way, I was not terminated from my client, I quit! After lurking on the computer for hours to be released and finding almost none, what was the point? It's not only me, MANY people will tell you the same thing. Many people will tell you they WERE terminated for stupid reasons, NOT because of anything they really did wrong. Are there those who should have been terminated from their client? Absolutely, but I would venture to say, not too many. Arise will take a fee from you whether or not you work right? Tell me what would happen if you only made $40.00 in a month, would they take it? By the time you pay your taxes, BOTH parts of your Social Security,(you are self employed) you are not making a dime. There is one particular work at home support site that I don't want to mention here because I don't want to break any rules, but if you do a web search you will find it. Just take a look and see what others who are currently working for clients of Arise are saying. You will be shocked! It's sad that people will put up with this because the economy is so bad they feel they have no recourse and have to take crumbs. I will give you that Arise is a legit company, BUT they are NOT a company who gives a hoot about the people who are it's life blood, the ACP who service their clients. When they lose them, they will be finished. Their BBB rating is B- now, and I foresee it going down further. I wish I had never come in contact with them and given them my hard earned money. My purpose in this is to make SURE people REALLY check it out before putting down their money in hopes of making their home based business work for them. If they decide to go ahead, fine, you have been told what is going on. Maybe, they will have a wonderful experience, I pray that will happen for them. What a horrible shame it would be to buy into this and quit a brick and mortar job only to find nothing at the end. I don't believe you can argue that point, can you?

Oh SO Confused!

AUTHOR: Mieke - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 25, 2009

Agreed- NOBODY should spend money to get a job- but Arise is not a job! It is a contact position you do not meet he terms of their contact and guess what? You will loose the contact! What part of this confuses people?

You seem very confused there ripped off- perhaps your time would have been better served finding ways to improve your performance rather than spewing your inaccuracies.

For every ONE complainer, there are THOUSANDS of happy agents. I am one of the happy ones and you can count on me to reply to every inaccurate, nasty and unprofessional post.

Arise Perfect? Far from it, but it is not a scam! So please, stop speaking on behalf' of the Arise agents you do not speak for me or the thousands of happy ACPs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reality Check

AUTHOR: Ruthie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 25, 2009

So because I am not hiding behind a screen name screaming lawsuit with you I must be an employee, right..? Oh please.... give me a break!

I defend this company because what is being posted here is not a proper reflection. I AM an agent and I am familiar with what metrics are and they are pretty much about your performance... you are apparently confused. Metrics encompass ALL - Quality, AHT, Commitment Adherence, Release Ratio, etc. If you loose a certification for not doing what is expected of you, how is this anyone's fault but your own? Please explain this to me as apparently I do not understand.

Arise does not FIRE- you can and will loose a contract if you consistently exceed talk time- it is a metric. If this is an issue for you then perhaps you may want to consider enhancing your skill set as opposed to blaming the company. Talk time was and is an issue I continue to work on- it has not been easy, but NOTHING worth doing ever is!

I have read the reviews online... I also guarantee I have been in this industry a tad longer than most complaining. I see the same thing over and over... people claiming they lost a contract 'for no reason'... when upon more detail it turns out there was a reason. Imagine if all of the energy used to complain was actually used to improve performance... oh what a world that would be!

I am tired of watching others do the bare minimum or less and expect to reap the same rewards as those who put forth 110%. No company is perfect and YES there are areas Arise could use some improvement in but this does NOT make them a scam or a fraud...

Best of luck to you- and I sincerely mean that.

Ruthie

Ruthie, you must be a member of the Arise internal staff

AUTHOR: Ripped Off In Florida - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 24, 2009

You certainly seem to defend this company alot. I wonder if you are an ACP or one of the Arise internal staff. If you are making money, you are far and few between. Metrics, are NOT just about performance. They encompass much more, and IF you are an agent, you would know that. You cannot defend the fact that Arise systems constantly go down. You cannot defend the fact that the resolution center makes it's ACP wait for a rediculous amount of time to get answers when problems occur, and THEN when you do get a live body, they have no answers. You cannot defend the fact that they are calling for MORE ACP when they can't even keep the ones they have busy. I doubt your veracity when it comes to the way you constantly defend this sham of a company. They DO fire for excess talk time, what do you want people to do, hang up on the client? Come on, get real! This company has gone down hill and it's sad that people will come on here, the rip off report and your posts will encourage others to get caught up in this mess. Go to workplacelikehome, look it up on the Internet and LOOK AND SEE the ACTUAL people who work for them and then come back and let us all know what you find.

Accountability, or lack thereof

AUTHOR: Ruthie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 24, 2009

All Arise Certified Professionals are considered self employed. You alone are responsible for your metrics. Arise would never terminate for a single metrics drop. However, those who routinely never show up, have poor quality and are sub par will be dropped.

When you, as an agent, are unable to keep and maintain the minimum requirements, why should you be kept on? I have been an agent with Arise for some time and there seems to be a trend those who complain the loudest are often the ones who refused to be accountable.

I make a full time living as an Arise Certified Professional- thousands of agents do. I have NEVER been terminated from an application, ever.

This is my business- I will either fail or succeed thus far, it has been the later. I take ownership for both success as well as failure as this is my business.
