ARS Rescue Rooter charged $225.00 for less than 15 min to run "snake" in kitchen drain; on internet they advertise to unclog drain less than $70.00 what a RIPOFF! Beware!!! Dallas, Texas

    I turned on my disposal and water began to run out of the hose that was connected to my garbage disposal. I called ARS Rescur Rooter and asked if a plumber could come out the same day that they were to do my anual furnance check, which was scheduled the next day; they agreed.

     The plumber arrived and I lead him to the kitchen. The doors to the disposal were open. He walked to the sink, and still standing, looked at the disposal and asked how old was the disposal. I told him it about 3 or 4 yrs old.

    He said, "Oh, you need a new disposal." I asked him how much would that cost. He said it would be $439.00. I told him I could not afford that. He immediately said that he could fix it for 249.00. I told him I would have to have it fixed.  He turned on the facuet and said, " Oh, your sink is clogged up."

    He ran a "snake" in the hose on my disposal and showed me what had stopped the hose up, celery,. He reconnected the hose and said I needed to buy a gallon of Drainright so this would not happen again. I asked him how much would that cost. He said, "it will be 70.00 but will last you a year." I told him okay.

He gave me my bill for 352.80. I told him that he was here less than 15 minutes, that was even picking up his "snake" gloves and small pan. I told him that he was just ripping me off. He said I owed him 352.80 and how will pay him. I gave him a check for $352.80. 

    Immediately, I noticed he had missed added and overcharged me 40.00. I called ARS and told them of the terrible ripoff and he even over charged me in his addition.      The girl at ARS said that she would call him, since he was only about a block away from my house  and I could make him another check. 

    All of this happened in less than 20 min. I have used them for the past 10 yrs, since moving to this area, but never again. I have tried to get them to make an adjustment since they advertise on internet that they charge $59.99 to unclog your sink; however, all to no avail.

    BEWare widows and elderly women. I told that plumber he was just taking advantage of me because I was old and a woman. I will never use ARS Rescue Rooter again. They have gotten all the money they will ever get from me.  I have bought two AC units, and many plumbing jobs in the past 10 years. But more than that, I will and have told everyone I can about this terrible RIPOFF!
