I bought a new Goodman hvac through Home Depot in 2014 installed and provided by ARS rescue rooter. So i thought . The units condenser failed in september of this year ARS intially wanted 1,500 to repair the problem that the technician had stated was uncertain what exactly the problem was. I contacted Home Depot after contacting Goodman . Goodman told me that i was sold a 2009 unit for new in 2014. I related this fact to Home Depot and they began talks with ARS . I was told by ARS after many attemps to contact them that my part not unit had come to them damaged and they would have to reorder another coil for the outside unit . I feel that they should provide me with a new unit atleast a 2014 or better . I was not sold a new unit that i thought i was buying . I feel there was some fraud that took place to install a 2009 in 2014.

They sent a sales rep from ARS out of gulf breeze , florida who sold me the unit . I bought this unit as new for $ 7,500 and expected the. Goodman unit to give me many worry free years of service. In september of 2016 the outside condenser failed and i had ARS come out and inspect and troubleshoot the unit only to find out that the outside condenser had no R410A in it. The technician stated that he did not know what exactly the problem was but it would cost me $1,500 to repair the unit through ARS. I called Goodman in Texas only to find out that the units parts were under warranty not the labor and refrigerant. I asked Goodman more detail about the unit giving them the serial number . They told me the unit was made in 2009 and had been sitting in a warehouse for 5 years . I was upset to find out i was sold a older made unit as new in 2014 and this unit is broken. I contacted Home Depot and they were helpful in getting ARS to agree to replace the bad condenser coil with a new one but it seems to be taking quite a while for this coil to arrive. Meanwhile; my family and i are hot in our home while we wait.

purchase vs. manufacturer date

AUTHOR: Tyg - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, September 04, 2016

See you DID purchase a NEW unit. It was manufactured in 2009. That doesnt mean that it was USED from 2009-2014. It means it was put together and boxed up and sat until it was purchased. I fail to see HOW you can make a demand that they give you a whole new unit when the unit YOU recieved was a NEW unit. It has only been through your use of said unit that it has failed. What YOU are doing is the typical "I dont want to have to pay for the repairs so Im going to LIE online to get my way". Thats not fair and you KNOW THIS! But in the typical vein of these types of posts, YOU will continue to play the victim BECAUSE you cant afford to pay for the repairs yourself. Due to that fact alone your post is suspect. YOU dont have a legal leg to stand on so YOU use defamation on a public forum to attempt to FORCE them to give YOU what YOU want. Sometime in the space of time since it was installed the use of said unit has caused a part to fail. Im sure you are intellegent enough to understand the concept of linear time and wear and tear due to use. That doesnt make the manufacturer liable for YOUR unit failure. The ONLY saving grace is that you had a warranty on it which covers the parts. No business in thier right mind is going to give you a whole new unit when you DID get a NEW UNIT! YOU are WHINING over the date it was made and NOTHING MORE! YOU are attempting to turn a molicule into a mountain over a NON ISSUE! If YOU had wanted one made in 2014 then YOU should have asked and verified that they were doing as you wished. Odds are that the ones made in 2014 were FAR more expensive then the unit YOU purchased. So YOU purchased in accordance with YOUR budget and when something goes wrong YOU use defamation to try and get your way. No, I dont know them or anyone in your post. I am however tired of seeing innocent companies bashed BECAUSE people are dishonest crybabies that just WILL NOT take responsibility for the choices THEY MADE!
