ARTfx or Art Effect as it used to be  known. Is run by  guy by the name of Lawrin Rosen. At one time he had over 30 employees. He's down to 4 or so. He keeps hiring bookkeepers then lets them go when they figure out he's cooking the books and they're now "involved."

ARTfx bounces employee paychecks. he does not reimburse drivers for mileage or expenses. He skirts around tax issues and the IRS now wants a peice of his company. If and employee takes a check to an ARTfx bank to cash it--the bank won't cash it.

All the artwork he takes credit for is done completely by a freelance guy--he does very very little himself. He has lost so much business because he does not change with the times. He also runs bogus help wanted ads to give the impression that his business is booming. Vendors watch out!!!

Mr. Rosen is in complete denial about his company's present condition. He came right out and pronounced his company was financially sound--but I had to wait for money my company was owed. What? Didn't you just say...? OK, no problem. I will wait. So, I waited and waited and waited. I was so frustrated, I went to Artfx and asked for a check --which I got after saying I would not leave without it. The check unfortunately bounced like silly putty wrapped in Flubber.

Mr. Rosen somehow believes that Artfx is a cash cow, but with little going in...not much can go out. He must be paying some hefty bank fees. Also, he acknowledges that he uses a freelancer to do his work and everytime I walked into Artfx --the same freelancer  would be there. He was working from a vague tissue rendering that Mr.Rosen produced. This guy I believe is there often and an employee.

I hate when someone B.S's me--especially about money that is owed. I am sure that mr. Rosen does not do this intentionally. He's getting older and may forget to make deposits. He sent out the equivalent of a car window flyer via email announcing he was going to re make his website which, by the way was very very sharp. One of the best on the internet. I'm thinking that this is the last thing he needs to do. What he really needed was new business. Then, I saw the improved (bring in the business) website.

First the site looked like a high school Power point presentation, then it morphed into a "really not as good as the original website."  A real step down in design. Why would he change it from great to mediocre? To save a few bucks on hosting.

I know Mr. Rosen will post a rebuttal denying most of what I have written, but I swear that it's all true.

This report is absolutely false.  We suspect that is was funished by a competitor who has recently lost an employee and a couple of jobs to us.

ARTfx employees 18 people and pays them far above industry standards.   At times, we have employed as many as 40 people, but have streamlined the manufacturing process and eliminated less profitable venues.  Fiscal 2013 is proving to be one of our best to date.

All of our vendors are paid.   All of our sub-contractors are paid as has been the case for 31 years. Credit references are available for review.

We are widely known for design, and the vast majority is designed by myself, Lawrin Rosen.  Two design sub-contractors have been occasionally brought in.  In most instances, they follow sketches prepared by myself.  On other occasions, they send in self-generated designs that I carefully review and ammend.  However, over the past year, the use of design sub-contracting has been narrowed to less than 5% of our total intake / output.

In the history of our company, we have employed a total of seven bookkeepers, who have averaged 4.4 each managing our books. We have never lost a bookeeper due to circumstances other than natural attrition.

If anyone is interested, they are invited in for a tour of our facility where they can meet our staff and see me in action with design.
