I was looking for a new dentist to get my teeth cleaned and possible veneers on my front teeth. I wanted to get to know the doctor first before I would consider letting someone do something like veneers to my front teeth. I went to Artistic Smile. The first visit they could only take xrays as I had had back surgery and did not know that I needed to take antibotics first. I was impressed that the dentist had caught this so I had to reschedule for the next week.

While there the second time, I got to know the doctor. He cleaned my teeth and I was actually impressed. At the third visit is when they hit me with the selling pitch for the veneers. Long story short (at least right here) they quoted my a price of $4,800. I told them it was too much money and they told me they could finance it for two years interest free. I said I would think about it. They had me fill out an application for credit.

Approximately three weeks later, (I have had no work done) I get a bill in the mail for the veneers. I called the finance company to ask them about this. They said the paperwork had been sent in for veneers and they already paid it. So I had to make payments. I told them there were not any services provided at all and I wasn't sure if I was going to do it. They said I would have to pay the bill until I could get it sorted out with the dentist.

At the next visit, I agreed to the veneers. (It is easier to be persuaded into getting something when you are forced to pay for it to keep from ruining your credit.) I had got a rapport with the doctor and had actually liked his work.

Well, he started the work. He grinded my teeth down and put on a temporary. THe veneers would be done in two weeks. The temporary broke before I even got home. (I live about 5 miles.) I had to go back and the dentist was gone and the technician had to put it back on. It then broke off two hours later and of course this was a friday.

I returned on monday for a new temporary. THis temporary lasted a whole day. They said they would put a rush on my veneers (but I soon learned a rush meant slower than the original date.) I had to wait over two weeks for the veneers and then they didn't fit. So I had to get another temporary. And as you guessed it, it broke within a day. They said they would put a rush on it. RIGHT!

Meanwhile the dentist that was working on my teeth quit (and no one told me) It was at this time that I found out he was not a partner as they had represented to me. He was not even on staff. I knew he was not the head owner, but he was represented as the partner dentist.

When I tried to get him to finish my teeth, they told me he couldn't do them. They said the dentists here come and go as they please and they can't make them do anything. Then I was told they would be getting a new dentist in a couple of weeks and he could do my teeth. (remember I already paid for them and I had no front teeth, the temporary broke. It was now going on four weeks with no front teeth.

I told them I did not want this brand new dentist doing my teeth but I wanted the owner, Dr. Greenburg to finish them. I called several times and tried to talk to Dr. Greenburg but he was ALWAYS out of town until the end of the week. They said they had another expericenced doctor, and I agreed to have her finish the work. THey would call me back with an appointment.
I never received a return call.

I called several times for both the female doctor and Dr. Greenburg but received no return calls. I even told them I would drive down to the other dentist's office who started my work as I knew he had an office somewhere in the Valley. THey said no. Af

After no return phone calls and no cooperation, I went to another doctor. I had to pay cash out of my pocket approximately $5,000. He finished the work in two weeks. After seeing how this other dental office did the work, I was amazed just how screwed up this Artistic Smiles was.

I called the finance company and put in a dispute and then I called Artistic Smile, wrote certified letters and requested my money back. I got a call from their office, and after two or three conversations, they agreed to pay my money back. It would take three weeks to get the money back.

I never received the money and tried calling his office, but he was out of town. I requested my dental records and have yet to receive them.

I will tell you I went to small claims court, but did not win. Here is why (I assume because they don't tell you anything) I did not have a receipt for the work. The file he had for my medical records was not only missing stuff, but it had fabricated information stating I refused to let anyone finish the work which was a flat out lie. I asked for three different doctors, just not the very brand new one (who by the way does not work there anymore either). The judge was also a pro tem. DO NOT USE A PRO TEM. He gave no reasoning for anything, and they do not know the law as well as a real judge.

I never even met Dr. Greenburg until the day of civil court and when I told him the information in my file was a lie, he said he wouldn't know. I even told this information to the pro tem. But he is the responsbile person in charge of this business. He stated in court they never guarantee who does the work and do not offer just one doctor for the work even though that is what his staff told me.

But here is the best part, he charged my insurance company who paid for some of the veneers so he was paid for the work from them too. He billed my insurance company for work that wasn't done and was paid for it.
