Aruba, LaCabana Resort dishonest, and liars ripoff Aruba Internet

For 5 years have been paying on time-share 1999-2004 apprx.$6,000. Prior emails of compliant w/ co. suggested I pay makeup maintenace fees of $2,225. Never rec'd anything saying I owed these fees.

Resort claims for 5 years they had sent info with re: although they admit some mail was returned. Initially they were willing to accept makeup fees. Said my 1st year fee was paid thru the "mortgage co."(Bluegrass) that is why they hadn't contacted me.

Now they claim the "mortgage co" is a loan company and they never were paid fees, and that my unit had never been used. After hiring an esq. they said the unit had been reassigned and that they would not accept makeup fees. Now the esq. gets an article of incorp. which they claim was sent.

What rational would I have to continue to pay on something for 5 years and never pay a maintenance fee (don't even know what that$ was ever!) Since its in Aruba and I Chicago this makes it hard for a court to decide if this is ethical. But, I'm certain this is what they anticipated.
