Ashely Furniture Store- Ashley Furniture store on Pulsaki Highway, Baltimore Deceptive pricing, marking up the price Rosedale Maryland

 This Ashley Furniture store has a practice of marking up the pricess and then offer a discount on the marked up prices. We went to but a dinnign table on a sale event of 50% off with free shipping. The chairs were marked at 330 $ and with 50% it would come down to 165$. The table was marked at 1200$ and with the 50% off it would be 600$. The same chair is listed on Ashely's website as 200% and with the 30% off event that they had, it was being sold at 150$. So for 8 chairs, the store was selling them 200$ more expensive with more alleged disocunt. The website was aslo offering free shipping. The table was listed on website as 700 and after discount was 550. So the table was also marked up around 500$ and even after 50% discount, was still 50$ more expensive than the website. So overall for a dinnign set, they were selling it 250$ mor expensive, but they were claiming a much higher discount. I contacted the Ashley furniture and htier repsonse was that each store is independently owned and operated and they can price whatever they want. This store is really trying ot deceive costumers. I understand that they can name theri own price, but really? marking a 700$ table as 1200$? or a 200 chair as 330$? Since when we consider this type of tactics fair to the costumers and we are OK with it. What happens to transparency and costumers right to know the true price?
