In 2006 we contracted with Ashish Gupta and his uncle (I think) Ashish Chawla from PDM Healthcare to market our medical supply distribution line. They were given top tier contracted pricing based on their exaggerated lies. Mr. Gupta touted that they would market our line directly to their 1,000 + physician and surgery center members. After the contract was signed they were hesitant to deliver a "member list" so that we could directly market to them. After contacting these "members" I quickly realized that it was a fraud. According to the first six members I contacted, they had no existing relationship with PDM Healthcare and quite frankly had nothing good to say about PDM Healthcare. We also had a contract with a similar company named Premier but they delivered some results. In fact, they worked as an aggressive liaison to promote our line and consistently requested additional marketing materials to distribute to their members. Please heed my warning and avoid dealing with Ashish Gupta and his representatives. Also, my brother in-laws company spent $5000 to participate in the PDM MedExpo and that was apparently a scam too! It was held several years earlier at the Renaissance Hotel. PDM's VP of Sales named James McCrackett is alledgedly a bold faced liar that intentionally dodged him during the MedExpo as he attempted to question where all of the "thousands of medical professionals" that he boasted were!!! I am now with med company that ignores GPOs !!

I am not familiar with PDM Healthcare in particular but they sound very similar to the GPO business model these days.
They are "hanging on" and certainly not needed anymore. Direct contracts are the only way to go. This Mr. Ashish Gupta, the owner of PDM Healthcare has probably seen his sales dwindle by at least 25%. The days of buying groups are numbered. It is a shame that the larger ones are so entrenched in the hospital market!
