Ashley Furniture Homestore Furniture Defects delivered 'as new' Grapevine Texas

I am inspired by a negative shopping experience at a local retailer to contact you in this regard. The store is Ashley Furniture Homestore, and the story is a long one.

Bottom line is that they appear to have a habit of gluing back together the furniture they should be selling at the discount outlet mall, and delivering these 'damaged goods' as new.

I have rejected and returned a dining room table. I received 8 chairs with my original order. All 8 had some defect. The table replacement came with two chairs, neither in perfect condition. The stain on the two chairs did not match each other, so one was rejected at that time. A repairman came to investigate the complaint with the other chairs. He stated: "I wouldn't want these in my home", and declined to repair two of our chairs; writing them up as replacement requests; a third looks really bad with a patch of wood putty that does not match the color of the chair. The corporate office claims the repairman made a positive report of the repairs made, and had closed our service request. We were told they were replacing nothing more.

After adamant refusal to accept this as final, I sent them photos of the current chairs' conditions to influence their decision to reverse their position. They have not yet agreed to do anything more to remedy the situation. I've already taken this to the corporate level twice- once on the table, and second of the present condition. I cannot believe the extent of cracks in the original table which they glued and delivered to me the first time! 5 different cracks in the leaf of this table. These things do not get accidentally glued back together. They knew full-well the damage existed, but delivered 'as new' anyway. I have photos and would welcome the chance to share these.
