Ashley's Furniture Store BUYER BEWARE****INSURANCE SCAM Tukwila, Washington

On January 8, 2011, my spouse and I bought an 8 piece bedroom set from Ashley's Furniture in Glendale, AZ.  I was assisted by a representative named Robert Tarango and paid a cashier by the name of Sara J.  

We purchased this bedroom set with insurance in anticipation for a very big move to the state of WA.  We were told that the insurance covers the state of WA. and in fact, covers the western coast.  We paid an additional $150.00. 

The insurance was so important to us that if they had told us it would not be covered in WA. we would not have bought it.

On October 22, 2012 we moved into our new home in WA. and I called Ashley's on October 23rd to discuss my insurance and how to transfer it to the local branch. 

I was then told that Washington state is NOT covered by the insurance and that they could do nothing to help me. 

They also refused to give me back my $150 to assist me in getting my furniture fixed.  I asked the woman if there was a corporate headquarters that I could talk to about this and she gave me an email address. 

I sent a complaint letter to this email address and within a few hours a man called me back while I was at work.  I did not get his name, but he said that he would not see a problem in getting the minor damages fixed.  

A few hours later, a woman called me and said that there was nothing they could do to assist me and that a refund was out of the question.  The end. 

As of October 24, 2012 at 12p, I was blocked from the email I had sent the complaint to.  These people have no intetions on honoring what was told to me by their representative or fixing my furniture.  What a waste of money and time. 

Robert Tarango is no longer employed with Ashley's but at the time of the purchase he was a credable representative of the company.  They are responsible for honoring the insurance agreement or at least refunding the money so that I can fix my set. 

By blowing me off it shows that they are in agreement with deceptive practices and consumer fraud.

There have been compaints filed with the BBB and the Attorney General's office for consumer fraud against Ashley's Furniture regarding this matter.  ***BUYER BEWARE****
