Im currently attending Ashworth College after reading some of the reports from others I understand what your talking about. I swear that they got me for extra money and also it's to easy. Im going on my 3rd semester with them and Im kinda getting a bad vibe, im making payments and I feel my balance is not going down. Also some of the colleges that I checked into wont even take Ashworth credits if I decided to attend another. I even learn that to earn your degree with them you need to:

1. You must complete 60 credits hours applicable to your degree program.

2. You must complete at least five courses with Ashworth College

3. You must earn a grade point average of 2.0 or higher

4. You must pass all subjects covered on the semester exams, which are taken at the end of each semester, you must obtain at least a 70 percent on each section of the exam.

5. You must pay your balance in full before u can received your degree.

Im sorry, but take a look a number 5 I must pay my bill in full before I can obtain my degree. Yes, 1-5 was taking from there student hand book. What if I get done next month and still owe like $2,000 on my account are u saying that I cant have my paper. Yes, that is what they r saying if your balance is not up to date they will hold your diploma and transcript until the bill is payed. Im sorry but my home college does not hold your diploma until your bill is payed come to think about it there is this thing called finacial aid that does help students with paying for school. But guess what PCDI does not have that.

Also my boyfriend is also attending Ashworth and he is going on his semester 3 also. He is piss becuz they haven't not send his exam for semester 2 yet and its going on 4 months we even called and sent email and they claim its on IT'S way. He has checked with his procter and she claims nothing Has came also.

Also my boyfriend sister has singed up for classes at Ashworth and she gave them a $100.000 and they never sent her materials or nothing but they are asking for more money.

I want out of this Ashworth scam ASAP. Does anyone know how I can get out of this scam and get my money back...my payment with them is due at the end of the month. PLEASE HELP ME...IF ANYONE KNOWS WHO I CAN GET IN CONTACT WITH PLEASE POST THAT INFO BELOW!

We are in the same boat

AUTHOR: Estella - (U.S.A.)

I really feel for you and your boyfriend. It is so funny because as I was reading your experience with Ashworth I felt I was reading my situation. I to waited about four months for my proctor to receive my exam, I kept hearing from Ashworth because they wanted their pymnt. I refused to pay until they sent my LAST EXAM so that caused them to send my account to collections but I still waited. I finally started sending emails to to all add.

on ashworth site I got a resonse and heard from my proctor that she received the exam.(5 mnths) My account will continue to stay with that coll.agcy until it is paid in full then the school says they will mail my degree.

One more thing, dont make the mistake I did and refuse to pay because they will send you to coll.and once your acct is sent there you can not get the 20% discount if you pay in full! So like I said I feel for you because I to feel like a foolish victim - No degree until acct pd. then being told my degree is worthless when it comes to tranfering. And how highly I would talk about Ashworth College What a joke the biggest part - WHAT A RIP OFF!!

Number 5 above seems standard.

AUTHOR: Sam - (U.S.A.)

Most schools that I have encountered will not release diplomas until all financial obligations have been satisfied. Your home school may release diplomas before students have paid their "financial aid loan money" in full, but the school itself has almost certainly received full payment. Financial clearance is part of the graduation petition process at all of the schools I have been involved with.

Ashworth does not offer Title IV federal financial aid. Therefore, you will be required to either pay in full, or take out a private loan in order to pay off the balance. This is a fair policy.

That being said, if you believe Ashworth is over charging you and/or that you deserve a refund, contact them in an effort to get an explanation. If their response is not satisfactory, contact their accreditor and detail your complaints.

Ashworth is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (www.detc.org). Visit their website and email one of their staff members with a description of the problem. They should be able to help.
