I chose to attend the criminal justice master's degree program through Ashworth College based on their advertisement "You'll have access to our prestigious faculty - all experienced educators and criminal justice experts who are eager to share their vast knowledge with you." It was my understanding I would have access to criminal justice experts.
As it turns out, I have no access to any criminal justice experts and/or professors. The person grading my assignments has a master's degree in business administration and no criminal justice knowledge whatsoever. If I had known all I would receive is a printout from someone claiming to be my professor, I would not have signed a contract with Ashworth.
I signed a contract with Ashworth under misleading pretenses and false advertising. None of Ashworth's criminal justice professors are available to me and some of them lack any form of graduate-level education whatsoever. After signing a contract and paying Ashworth $1,106, I received an e-mail from Sherri J. Kae, Dean, Graduate Studies, in which she informed me that "my professors" as they are called in Ashworth's course material, are actually faculty authors and I am not to contact them for any reason.
In addition to Ashworth's untruths about my having access to my professors, I have had on-going problems with Deatra Riley-Boyd, the person grading my assignments. Some of the problems I have experienced include her sending me course materials - numerous times - for their business degree instead of for my criminal justice degree, incorrectly grading my assignments, changing the syllabus after I completed the coursework, stating the professor's referencing practices in their writings were incorrect - that their content [of the professor's writing] had very little meaning, and her total lack of criminal justice knowledge.
