This college is NOT REGIONALLY accredited they did not assist me with financial aid- and they sent me a letter after over a year -I paid them cash of over a thousand dollars, for a few classes- now they send me a letter saying I now owe them an additional $24 for shipping- I havent received any more books or anything from them since I paid them cash initially-no one ever told me anything about this additional fee- and I havent taken classes with them in over a year-this is truly a scam and I would advise anyone to not attend this school.

The reason many regionally accredited colleges and unversities won't accept credits in transfer from schools like Ashworth is because of their level of accreditation. Regionally accredited institutions are closely inspected on a wide range of factors, one of which is the quality of the faculty. DETC only requires a Bachelor's degree to teach general education courses. Every regionally accredited institution I've worked at requires a MINIMUM of a Master's in the subject area or a closely related field. Many schools require a terminal degree (usually the doctorate).
This is only one example; there are many more. While distance education schools will continue to grow because of the need of working adults, a student has the responsibility to ensure that the credits will transfer (if that's their goal), or that the earned degree carries some level of weight in the career field they're pursuing.
The best course of action is to enroll in a traditional college that offers the program you want via distance education.

Ashworth College is accredited by the DETC and recognized by The U.S. department of Education U.S. Army. etc, and also recognized by CHEA and its member of HETA. Check for yourself.

My story I received and Associates Degree from Ashworth Enrolled in the U.S. Army and then Transferred my credits to A Regional Accredited College.
A lot of Regional Accredited Colleges do not Accept National Accredits college credits from DETC or ACICS ( the two major national accredited agency both recognized by CHEA and U.S. Department of Education)

It is not an Ashworth problem okay it is a feud between RA accredited schools and NA accredited Schools. RA schools don't want to accept their credits because of business they want to keep having a monopoly.
Detc is the best National accreditation and Ashworth is Accredited by them. It would be great if Ashworth was also Regionally Accredited and I believe they are working on getting their RA Accreditation. Contact them and tell them to get RA Accredited.
Also contact Department of education and tell them that they must stop RA accredited colleges from just refusing National accredited college credits.
Contact DETC also and tell them about your issues
RA schools that I know that take Ashworth College
( their are more you have to look)
