I noticed when I received my bill that I had a purchase of 53,98 with these informations: ASKNETSHOPS. 4470526 PARIS 8 FR. I seldom buy on internet, but I sometimes do. Where did they get the info of my card? I never buy on unreliable sites that are unknown to me and I never used my card for any agecheck system or something like that. I didn't remember the name of the shop, so I started looking for it on internet. Now I'm sure I never purchased anything because it seems it is a software supplier and I know exactly what software I bought with visa: one anti-virus (Mc Caffee) and one multimedia program (Nero). It seems their site does not exists and reports of ripoff and unexisting shops and sites appear in america, germany, france...

Was legitimate charge for WS-FTP Pro software
AUTHOR: Paul G - (Australia)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, March 06, 2010
I found the charge of 54.95 on my credit card statement, charged by VISA-WWW.ASKNET-SHOPS.COM ASKNET.COM. I discovered that it was a legitmate charge for software (WS-FTP Pro by Ipswitch), by matching the date of the charge with the registration/receipt email from Ipswitch. (In theory I could also have found it by doing a search through the body of all my emails for the word 'asknet' (I keep all emails relating to products purchased on the internet in a separate folder so the search is quick).)
#2 Consumer Suggestion
Asknet-shops.com Charges
AUTHOR: Al - (U.S.A.)

I also noticed what I thought was a false charge from this company on my Captial One credit card bill for February 2008. I could not remember ordering anything from them. Coming to the Ripoff Report triggered my memory and allowed me to quickly solve why this charge was on my statement.
I ordered software from Nero (I believe it is a German company) online. I went to my copy of the Nero order confirmation and found the amount and date are a prfect match with the Asknet-shop charge on my credit card bill. At this point I have no reason to reject this charge.
Nero is apparently using this company to handle their billing in the United States.
Nero could easily resolve the confusion by telling their customers their bills will appear as Asknet-shops.com charges.

ASKET-shops is NOT a ripp-off (not in my case anyhow)

After checking things out, it seems Asknet-shops does the transactions of Nero.com. I ordered softwere online and didn't recognise the paiment cause I didn't know they were established in France and I didn't find their site but I did find rip-off reports ons everal sites and sites where people complained they couldn't find either a site either a shop. So I paniced. Sorry asknet-shops, but you should be more clearer when debiting money, give a clear reference to the product or the site (in my case: Nero 8 from Nero.com) and not change the name of your site so that it becomes unfindable!!!!
