My husband and I went to Aspen Dental in Feburary '08 for dental work. I went 2 weeks before my husband and had my work done. I paid them in full what they said that I owed, and that they would bill my insurance company for the rest. I just gave them my insurance information because my husband would be using his insurance for him. When my husband went in 2 weeks later he gave them his insurance information, and paid his share of the bill that day. They said that they would send the bill out that day to the insurance company because my husband was going to see an oral surgeon the next day for some work, and his insurance paid on a first come basis.

Instead of sending his information into his insurance, they sent mine in and got turned down, because they were not my primary insurance. The surgeon sent his claim into my husband's insurance, and maxed out his plan for the year. My husband still had his insurance though mine left, but doesn't pay as much as his does. For months I kept receiving bills in the mail from Aspen, and I would always call them up and ask them to send the bills into the insurance company, which they always said they would.

Finally in July, I received a late notice from Aspen, and they still haven't sent their claims into the insurance company. I called them up and demanded that they send them in. They said that they did send them in June, but my insurance company never received anything from them. I then called the Better Business Bureau on them, because they were going to ruin my credit rating wwith the late notices. Finally they sent them into the insurance companies. Of course my husband's insurance was maxed out for the year, so they didn't pay anything towards his. My insurance paid my bill and informed me that I overpaid by over $600. When asked about my refund, they told me they were still waiting on other charges to be taken care of. There was never any other charges that I knew of, and I called my insurance company and asked if the received anything else from them. Of course they did not, and I am still waiting for my refund from them.

As for my husband's bill, they have not to this day sent his claim into my insurance company for payment, and they continue to bill him every month. Of course he will not send them a dime until they do, plus send me my refund. I would never do business with Aspen Dental again, they aren't there for their customers, all they care about is money. I have been lied to over and over again, and that is no way to do business.
