My wife and I received a notice of termination of our aspire visa card account as well on 12/09/08.So after a day of getting very mad as we had this account for over 5 years,I started doing some research on this and found out the FTC has filed a suite against the parent company compu credit.I then contacted the FTC and was told by an agent on the phone to submit a complaint.
Then the agent told me to contact my states attorney generals office and file a complaint with them.Ok sense this action is being taken against the main holding company of this credit card and a class action suite has been started by the FTC,we all need to do the same thing because we will get in on this law suite and may in turn get money back from this credit card company.
After you have filed your complaints with the FTC and your local states attorney generals office call the FDIC @ 1-877-275-3342.This is all i have for you at the moment

They were sued by the FTC
AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

If you go to the FTC website and do a search for Aspire, you will see that the FTC is taking action against them-the FTC filed suit against them.
This may indeed be the reason they are getting out of the "consumer credit" business.
