Asset Acceptance has been sending me letters trying to collect on a credit card that isn't mine. When I did call them and tell them it is not my debt they responded by telling me to file an identity theft report and send them a copy. How and where do you file this report if you don't know where this theft occurred? My only responsibility was to notify them that it was not my debt. They continue to send letters. They cannot call as they do not have the number. Why doesn't anybody like the government stop them. I noticed that they keep checking my credit report. They have no business doing that. I owe them nothing on that card. They will not stop with the mailings. How do I stop them?

"How and where do you file this report if you don't know where this theft occurred?"
As THEY are the ones trying to steal your identity if you think about it. They are just throwing darts at everyone with a similar name trying to get their identity information so they CAN pin the debt on you or anyone similar. How is that not identity theft?
