Asset Acceptance I've Never Had The Account They're Collecting For Phoenix, Az I recieved the first bill last year and it's wanting me to pay for an account i never had let alone it's from 1998. ripoff Warren Michigan

Last year I got this letter from Asset stating that I owe for a Target charge card I never had,although i remember seeing it on my credit report as being a CHARGE-OFF. They then tell me that it was opened in 1998 and closed in 1999. First of all I was a soon to be mother at the time this card was opened by someone other than me using personal information that I DIDN'T AUTHORIZE.

I was going to parenting classes and I was on state assistance,food stamps not cash,and I didn't have a job. So no one in their right mind would offer me a card. I asked them if they could tell me the address of where these supposed bills were sent to since I wasn't getting them at my parents house,where I lived at the time, and all they could tell me was, "We don't YOUR" privacy."

That's when I started to think that if they can't give me the information then something's wrong. So I filed a police report and the checked up on the web for Asset and got all these things stating all this stuff that they are doing wrong. Especially in my case. If I tell them I never had this account/target card they should provide me with that information so I could file a complete report and not a report that has only some information and not the most important thing the police need to catch a possible fraud crime.

So what can I do?
