Assurant Solutions mywirelessclaim.com Insurance Claim filed, no phone received and they won't refund my deductible. Internet
My cell phone was stolen on Friday, April 11th and I filed an insurance claim on Monday, April 14th saying it had been stolen. The insurance company, Assurant Solutions aka mywirelessclaim.com, took the claim information over the phone and I received an email from them saying a claim had been opened. A few hours later, I received another email from them telling me my claim had been approved and they'd notify me when my replacement phone shipped. A week passed and I hadn't received a shipment notification, and I hadn't received a replacement phone. I called the Assurant Solutions and they told me they shipped a replacement phone to me on April 14th via Fed Ex Next Day Air and it was delivered on the 15th. I told them I never received the package and they told me they'd open an investigation to trace down the lost replacement phone. I was told the investigation can last 10-14 days. I asked if they could send me another phone while they investigate what happened to the lost replacement phone because it had been about week and half since I'd been without a phone at that point. They told me they couldn't do that. Then I asked if they could refund my $50 deductible so I could go by a replacement phone instead of waiting another 2 weeks for them to figure out what happened to the replacement that got lost, and they told me they couldn't do that either.
They said my only option was to wait until the investigation was over. At that time, they could either send me another replacement phone or refund my deductible. I called a week ago to check status on the investigation because I hadn't received any updates and the rep who answered the phone told me my claim had been closed. She apologized and said she'd request an update on the lost phone and told me to call back the next day for an update. I called back the next day and there was no update. The rep I spoke to said it was the last day of the investigation period so there wasn't an update yet, but told me to call back the next day and there should be an update. Three days have passed and I called today for an update. I spoke to Lisa today who proceeded to tell me there was no update and today was the last day of the investigation so I could call back tomorrow and there should be an updated. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Customer service sucks and the company is being operated very poorly. They won't refund my deductible and they won't send me another phone. Fed Ex apparently left the phone at my doorstep, but the package was never there. A signature wasn't required for the delivery. I can't get this insurance company to refund my money, send me a replacement phone, or give me any reasonable update. If you're paying this company for phone insurance every month, stop. They won't cover your cell phone when you need to file a claim. They received about 3 years worth of monthly insurance payments from me, plus my $50 deductible. They stole from me. I don't know what my next steps will be just yet, but I'm pissed and I'm not letting this go.
