A fraudualnt report that my cell phone was lost was received and Asurion sent a new phone to the the fraudulant address without ever contacting me to tell me that a claim was filed.  The criminals had my social security number .  The only peopl who could or would know that I had phone insurance would either work for Asurion or my carrier ATT> It was an inside job!  Both ATT and Asurion keep transferring me back and forth and cannot offer an explanation as to how this could have happened.  Why wasn't my phone deactivated as soon as it was reported stolen ? It wasn't.  Why would they send new  phones without getting in touch with me ?  This is criminal...not just negligent!

I read the rebuttal.... The fact remains that YOUR agent told me that the people who called changed the e mail address. on the account.  She said " so you wouldn't be contacted."Still I wasn't contacted.  So, they had my information...only the last four didits of my social.    You blame my  family ?  Does your family do things like that ? Mine doesn"t!   I did look into this and found out the claim came from a large company that sells phones, computers, etc.  ATT was helpful tracking down the people who submitted the claim.  It is ridiculous to think I am to blame for this !

Why?!?!?!

Why would you expect them to contact you when the people who commited the fraud HAD YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION!!! Assurion would have considered that the person that they were dealing with WAS YOU. They would have asked a few security question. If the people who did this had the right answers then they would have no reason to contact you. I would be looking at close family members as the culprit. Or a close friend who you may have gotten a phone for. Assurion doesny have access to YOUR cell phone account. SO its either ATT or someone close enough to you to know your personal information. A EX, a family member who has a beef with you, a close friend that you may have pissed off. OR it was a transposed number and the transposition number happen to match YOUR account. All of these are HIGH probabilities.

Take a few and investigate before you continue online bashing. The web is a media outlet. If the company that you have made a report about feels that your post has slandered thier business, they can then go after you in civil court. You can protect yourself from this by ensuring YOUR information is ACURATE to the best of your knowledge. A accusation IS NOT proof. What you THINK happend is not proof. As a customer you have the right to question ANY fraudulent activity. So work your way up the corporate customer service ladder. I cannot stress enough that you should mind your manners while doing this. You get more flys with honey then you do with rude and stupid. Yes it IS upsetting. But this is THIER fault and THIER issue to clear up. And PLEASE remember that the voice on the line IS A PERSON!!! THEY have a job to do and they DONT need you making thier minimum wage job a hellish experience. If you can do these things, then odds are that you will get the situation resolved. Dont get frustrated that the first person you speak with wont be able to do much. You will have to call a few different people. But stick with it. If you are a "nice guy" on the phone and youre not calling up and blasting away at the percieved slight of ripping you off. YOU have NOT been ripped off by THEM. THEY are as much of a victim as YOU are, so play nice and you will get this resolved and MAY be able to see the people who have done this PUNISHED.

Good Luck.
