I received a call from Christina (((ROR REDACTED FULL NAME FOR SECURITY REASONS))) from AT-1 financial resources congratulating me on being approved for a $5000 loan. I went through all the paperwork, sent them my personal information, including my checking account for my loan deposit. The final step, I needed to secure my loan because of my credit situtation. I needed to a) have a co-signer who makes $50,000+ a year, b) secure the loan with a vehicle purchased within the last 2 years, or C) put down a $590 security deposit with a insurance company (Stratus International Insurance Co) for the loan to be finalized. Foolishly I chose option C and sent my "security deposit". "Congratulations, your loan is secured sir, and your funds will be available in 2-3 business days.

A day before the funds were to be deposited, I received a call from David Rogers in the financial/customer service department letting me know that there is a problem with my insurance company wanting more money after an "extensive background" check of my credit history and "he is working very hard on finding me a new insurance company" and it will be a few more days. After about 2-3 weeks of, "I'm still working very hard" or "I have a meeting on your account thursday" I gave up on this situation and requested a refund. "No problem sir, if you see page 4, paragraph 6 of your papers, your refund will be returned to you within 30 days."

After about 35 days without receiving my refund, I called to see what was going on. The main number for AT-1 financial has been disconnected, but I was able after a few days of trying to get a hold of David (((ROR REDACTED FULL NAME FOR SECURITY PURPOSES))) at the alternate number I was provided. He checked with the financial department and my refund will be issued by the end the week. This has gone on for almost a month now. I've heard excuse after excuse why my refund has not been issued, but it will be there Monday! I'm not going to worry about crossing my fingers on this one.

I can get a hold of this David about once every 3 days between 10 and 6 pm central time. I went online to search for AT-1 financial resources website and a new phone number. The first thing that came up on google is ripoffreport.com. Great! I read the 4 stories similar to mine and now I feel like a complete idiot for ever sending money but more importantly my personal information. I'm pretty positive I will never see my money, but if anyone knows of anything I can do or any action I can take I would love to hear it.
