What was the reason they gave you for the tow when you picked up your car?

There were vehicles in front of and behind us.  There were NO signs stating that it was illegal to park there or that it was a towing zone.

- Really?  Perhaps you should take another look at your picture you posted.  Right on the post at the end of the block(which is legal) is a parking sign.  You don't have to have parking regulations posted on every post, generally only once every few hundred feet or per block is enough.  It is YOUR responsibility to be well aware of all of the parking regulations.

If I was a betting man the reason you were towed is because you parked in an area that required a permit, very common in beach communities.  Of course that is something you did not have.  Other possibilities were that you were in a metered area and didn't pay(and many cities are removing individual meters) going to a central pay point.  You were blocking a doorway/driveway.   Parked in a "No Parking" Spot (Red curb) or loading zone.  Of course it could be many other things as well.

Because remember you were not towed by some "Renegade" towing company, you were towed by Law Enforcement.

So when you picked up your vehicle, what was the reason they gave you for the tow?  You also failed to mention that.

 If your vehicle was towed BY THE POLICE, then YOU were parked someplace YOU should not have. YOUR IGNORANCE doesnt give YOU a pass!!! Just because YOU didnt see a sign, doesnt change the reality of the situation. WHY is it ALWAYS a scam when YOU FAIL to use your eyes?? YOU CHOSE to park where YOU did. YOU get to deal with the consequences of that choice. In no way did the police instruct YOU to park THERE!! This was YOUR CHOICE!!!! As for YOU having to cross several lanes of traffic, well THAT was on YOU as well. YOU CHOSE to be unsafe and JAYWALK!!!!HOW this is ANYONEs fault beyond YOURS is beyond me.YOU are a VICTIM of YOUR CHOICES!!! Perhaps the REAL issue is that YOU just wanted to get to the beach and YOU didnt CARE!! YOU were focusing soley on getting there and NOT PAYING ATTENTION!!! So YOU look around and you dont IMMEDIATLY see a sign for no parking so YOU figured YOU were safe!!!
