I filed a complaint against at&t wireless because of their unfair billing and business practices on 12/21/16. I have been a customer with them since august of 2016. I recently had a death in the family and had to pay for the funeral services, I lost my job and I am waiting for my unemployment check which comes in January of 2017.  So right now I'm suffering a hardship. I for one do not understand how the bill is up to $700. I do not consent for at&t to turn my cell phone service off. I can give at&t the last of my money towards the bill in the amount of $200. I am an honest man sui juris and will pay my debt owed to at&t. I just need at&t to work with me, I  explained all of this to several customer service reps, as well as Wally in the presidents office. Wally called me 12/23/16 and basically in so many words, told me at&t doesn't care about its customers and their hardships, At&t on cares about making money off of the us citizens. Wally said that sprint would do nothing for me and my service will be cut off. Wally never explained why my bill is so much.  The phone call was ended with out any resolution nor any attempt to find a resolution for me. This is why the citizens hate corporations because all they care about is money, At&t is no different. I demand for at&t to work with me and come up with a resolution to our problem. I will pay to at&t what is owed but I need sometime and  an arrangement and explanation as to why my bill is so much money.

Wrong on so many levels..

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, December 24, 2016

When someone says that a company won't "work" with them, that is code for "They won't do what I want".

No company is under any obligation to just let you make up your own payment schedule.  Every day they kept your phone on past the due date of your payment is them working with you.  But just like every other company they have their limits.

You say you didn't "consent" to them turning off your phone. Sorry, but yes you did.  When you signed the contract there was a clause that said if you fail to pay..they have the right to disconnect your service.

You say you are an "honest" man. Well they don't know you from the guy next door.  You didn't even have the phone for 4 months before you had "hardships". Just like the dozen people who they talked to today before they talked to you.  Oh..and a majority of those people are just lying to get out of paying.  So you are going to get lumped in with all of the other liars even if you aren't because they are not going to take the time or energy to figure out who is telling the truth.  You haven't been with them long enough for them to even begin to trust you.

If you think that another company would be any more "forgiving"...you have a rude awakeining coming your way.

You can try to bring in some 1% b***s****, but this has nothing to do wtih that and the "evil" corporation.

The fact is that the contract you signed doesn't say you only had to pay when you could or when YOU decide to.  There were not "special exceptions" if you lost your job,  had a death in the family, or got stranded on a desert island after a 3 hour tour.  You still owe the money.

If you want to know why your bill is so much, money look at your bills.  But I can save you time and let you know that your bill is that high for a variety of factors.  First your delinquent monthly service up until now.  There is also probably a Termination Fee applied because they disconnected your service.  Those two alone could be well over $700.

Now, you are right about one thing.  You will pay the debt you owe to AT&T.  The only question that remains is do you pay it before they send you off to a collection agency and file a lawsuit against you in civil court.  Where once you get a judgement against you they may be able to take more legal ways to get the money owed.

No, I do not work for them.
