After enjoying a seven day trial of Audiobooks.com I decided to maintain a subscription with the company. I started listening to audio books at work and in the evenings when I did my housework. After a few months I received an email stating my account was closed because "of fraud and abuse". I called customer service assuming there was some type of mistake. I initially spoke to Jessica who transferred me to her manager Kimberly. I'm sure that Kimberly was another coworker because I cannot imagine any business putting someone as unprofessional and abusive as Kimberly in any type of managerial role. Plus, Kimberly referred me to the manager (after stating she was the manager) Gillian who seems to be trying to avoid this entire debacle.

After reading other complaints and the company website I learned my account was canceled because I exceeded what they consider legitimate use. Since I believed the service was truly unlimited as the advertisements I listened to multiple audiobooks and my account was canceled and my subscription fee kept.

I have filed complaints with every consumer agency I can find to hopefully draw some attention to Audiobooks.com and Simply Audiobooks. No company should be able to attract customers with false advertising (claiming a service is unlimited when it is not) and keep subscription fees. Additionally, no reputable business should allow staff members like Kimberly to abuse the people she is employed to help.
