I received an email from Careerbuilder Job Poster on Wednesday July 27, 2005. It was for a job with Austrian Mediamarket Groups and I read the information that was in the email about what they do.
Not knowing that is was a scam I sent my full name, address, city, state, zip code, contact phone number, email address, and a picture of my driver's license as a reply to the email I received from Careerbuilder. I then received an email from Michael Downes that evening saying that I will receive my first payment for their customer within the next 10 days.
I have yet to pay anything for this, and I do not want to pay anything. I do not want to work for this scam and I want to protect my identity. I have contacted my bank via email stating what has happened and I will go there in person to alert them of any wire transfers and to refuse them. I will also go to the post office and ask them to refuse any mail from Austria. I will call the credit card companies also and alert them. I know I am not alone with this situation.
