My girlfriend Kelly and I Traded in a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer For a 2010 Chevy Impala. We were told this Impala Took Flex Fuel. We looked at a Black 2010 Impala at first with 41,000 miles .The Black one had a Flex fuel badge on the back. The salesman showed us another 2010 Impala with 26,000 Miles that was Silver and when we asked why there was no Flex Fuel BADGE he said "All the Impalas take flex fuel "It doesnt have to say Flex FUEL! We bought The 2010 Silver Impala and After 7 days and 300 miles the Check Engine light came on. We took the Impala back To Nessenger Chevrolet 112 for Service . The Service manager called us and asked "Who put flex fuel in the car"? Naturally Kelly told her that we did. The service manager said that Our Impala only took gasoline and not flex fuel!!!!!!!!!We wanted an efficient car that took Ethanol not Gasoline!!! We paid 14,500 for a car we didnt want to buy!! On top of everything else The sales Manager said we had to pay half of the 800.00 dollar repair bill !!!! We had to pay 400 for them to draine the flex fuel out and give us 2 gallons of regular gasoline!!!! We paid the 400.00 and went home to find out Kelly cd s and cd holder were robbed from The Impala while the car was at Nessenger!!!! They are rude , lying thieves at Nessenger chevrolet 112 !!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!

Talk About A Rip OFF

Do a little research on ethanol. E85 is about 30 cents per gallon cheaper here in town. Regular unleaded has appox. 10% eathanol in it. You get anywhere from 25 to 50% LESS miles per gallon using E85 then you do using regular unleaded. That ethanol craze of a few years back is ONE of the reasons corn and beef prices are so high. There are THREE OR FOUR gas stations serving over a millon people here in the San Antonio area that sell ethanol. Gee, I wonder why? It's an idiot's dream that has largely gone by the wayside. Making ethanol out of corn that is grown for that purpose is economically infeasible and HAS to be heavily subsidized by the governmemt at TAXPAYER'S expense. In central America, they use byproducts from sugar beets and sugarcane among others, that COST THEM NOTHING. They get them for FREE and turn those "leftovers" into ethanol. WE on the other hand, grow corn to process into ethanol. We spend a butt load MORE money to replace something that costs us a bunch LESS, oil, foreign or domestic. Keep on pumping that E85 ethanol.

You can tell when a car salesman is telling a lie.....

You can tell, because if he is speaking he is telling a lie. Do all car salesmen lie? NO. But it is extremely rare to find one that is honest and trustworthy. You are better off adopting a policy of "TRUST BUT VERIFY" and you won't have these type of issues.
Should the salesman have told you the right type of fuel for the vehicle - yes. But why would you take his word for it when the vehicle manual is right there in the glovebox? It only takes a minute to look up the items you need to know. The manufacturer is the authority on that vehicle and they put the fuel type required right in the manual. Or pull out your smart phone and search the net for your answers on whatever vehicle you are purchasing. Do it right there in front of the salesman if you didn't do it before you walked into the dealership. In fact, most of the dealers even have an internet center set up with computers to do the search if you don't have a smart phone. Check each and every item the salesman states as a fact or feature.
If you don't research the vehicle before buying, you are going into battle unarmed. Research, read, learn first. Then negotiate your deal, read the contract to make sure you catch all the "mistakes" the dealer makes (always in their favor) and you won't have these types of surprises.
Was the salesman wrong for telling you a lie? Yes. But you were wrong to believe him. Protect yourself.

Use of ethanol fuel

I hate to tell you but ethanol fuel is used all over the country and any new car built will run on etahnol fuel. The use of straight unleaded gasoline has been outlawed in the USA.Any car built in the USA today runs fine on ethanol fuel.
