Harbin Automotive knowingly sold me a defective truck. Early in 2005 I traded my 1997 F150 to Harbin for a larger truck, a 1997 Dodge dually turbo diesel. Pleased with my trade I headed home, 30 miles later the truck had already pumped out six quarts of oil. A grand total of 45 minutes after I traded for the truck I called Harbin and asked for the F150 back, tempers ran high. Finally exasperated I even offered to let him keep the money I'd given with the F150, no small sum. It was at this point Mr. Harbin informed me that This isn't Wal-Mart. though he did offer me $500.00 to help cover the expense of repair. An oil analysis later revealed that the truck had been filled with STP, a very thick oil that basically stays in the bottom of the oil pan until warm. One of the reasons why the problem didn't reveal itself during the test-drive. The truck had a broken ring.
