Purchase a 2002 Ford Expedition in Feb. on 2008 after the salesman said what a fantastic SUV it was and that it was actually already spoken for. Got a call a couple of days later saying that the previous purchaser was unable to get the down payment so it was mine. We actually were looking at another, cheaper SUV that he said was already sold. Funny when we picked ours up it was still there.

Anyway, we have had this clunker in the shop for Rotors, Breaks, Electrical Issues, Tire Issues, Fuel Injection Issues, Sway Bar broke, and now the Alternator went out. I just had this thing in the shop a few weeks ago for the fuel injectors, the second time. Gt it back several days later. Drove it to Florida for the family vacation and it started sputtering and stalling. Thank god it ran ok on the highway and got us home. Driving it down the road on Saturday with my 3 year old and 6 month old in it it lost all power right on a busy street. Not even the flashers would work. We about got creamed several times so we got the kids out asap. Called a tow truck to come get it which cost me $80. While waiting a passer by felt bad for us and helped me push this beast into a near by parking lot. Thank god! It's amazing how many people can't see a 4000lb vehicle stalled right in front of them in broad daylight. Any way, it was memorial day weekend so they weren't open until Tuesday. Never heard a peep from them until Wed. Told them that I didn't want this vehicle as it was unsafe. They sad that we drove this thing 26000 miles (I have an 01 PT that has only 66000 miles since I bought it brand new. There is flat out no way!) and our warranty was up so we would have to pay for the repairs in full and get this, the service manager said and I quote," having this in the shop only 6 times for a used car in a year is pretty good, it should have been in 8 for oil changes alone". I was shocked and irritated at this response.

Here another little kicker. When I talked to the service manager, I had called to talk to someone with CNAC about getting into something else even if it was more expensive, I'd take on the debt to get something safe. They said that they would talk to the owner and get back to me. Surprise surprise, I heard nothing back until I called 3 times. When I got through to someone and asked to speak with the account officer I was transferred to service. Service transferred me back to the office and again I was transferred to service.

Finally I spoke with someone and they said that I owed to much on it still so there was nothing that I could do. They were gracious enough to throw out there that if you don't pay your payment then they will repo it and garnish my wages immediately. Even the service guy told me that line.

The gist of it. I contacted an attorney to file CH7 and they will be listed as no 1 on the list. This all could have been avoided if they liked paying customers.
Obviously anyone that buys from them has credit issues to begin with which is my case so my credit score can only go up.

My advice - DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY FROM JD BYRIDER OR CNAC! buy some junker out of the paper and save your money to pay cash for a better car with less miles.

They called me up and had me go over and sign some paperwork stating that I owed them nothing and they owed me nothing so I basically rented this piece of crap for a year. After I reported it here that they made it right they reported it to my credit bureau bad debt charge off. NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To clearify on the rebuttal I actually took it over to them for an electrical issue, brakes twice, fuel injector issues twice, there never was a spare tire,
found that out the hard way, front sway bar link busted, then I stopped by because of a shaking issue. Ended up being the retreads were separating.
The mileage was a whole nother issue. There is no way we put 26000 miles on it in a year. We hardly drove it because I couldn't afford $130 to fill it up.
Drove my PT most of the time. Since 2001 only drove it 68000 miles.
The service manager said that having a used car in the shop only 6 times in a year for SERVICE, not just oil changes was good for a used car. This infuriated me.

On 6-25-09 I got the call that they wanted me to stop by and sign a release, giving them the vehicle back and releasing me from all liabilities. They also stated that they would report it paid with no late payments to all credit bureaus. I took nearly a month but ultimately I am satisfied with the outcome.
I don't know why they just didn't put me in a minivan like I asked and we all would have been happy and stayed happy.

FACTS are questionable

AUTHOR: Russ Jdb - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 17, 2009

The facts are the vehicle was driven 26,000 miles in 15 months. We offer free oil changes every 3000 miles, so the statement that the vehicle would be in 8 times for oil changes would be true. We include a 24 month/24,000 mile ZERO deductible warranty on engine, transmission, battery, brakes, starter, tune-ups, alternator and more. The SUV was in the shop for brakes (-0- paid warranty) then after 11,000 miles a tune up and suspension, axle seals and replaced a SPARE TIRE. Part of this was warranty and the reainder was done at no cost as GOODWILL.
Then after 26,000 miles it was brought in with a bad alternator. AS per our agreement of parts at cost and labor at the GREATLY REDUCED rate of $35 per hour we offered to not only do the alternator at cost but take care of the labor at no cost.
How someone could consider driving a used vehicle for 26,000 miles with no service cost and what repairs were done outside of the warranty done as GOODWILL could consider this unreliable si beyond me. The service department and an outside service center have driven and scanned this vehicle for any codes or drive-ability problems and found nothing after the alternator was replaced. We stand on our past 5,000 customers and excellent record and happy customers at our locations as proof that customer service comes first. I truly regret this customer's feelings and as he said, I truly value him as a good customer. We will not pursue any deficiency balance and wish him the best of luck.
