Originally i went in to have my trans checked it was still driveable but slipped 2nd to 3rd gear..they said it was good i caught it in time and its going to cost me at most $1600..so they got into it..called back and said its worse then it looked and said its gonna over $2000 to fix...then another call came its gonna take a complete rebuild causing me to dish out $3300 and i had no choice in the matter to have them repair since i work 7 Days a Week and have no time to do it myself..4 days i later i get my jeep back seemed fine but dissapointed on the bill..went in 10 days later for follow up to make sure its all good..everything checked out fine. Now its been almost a month since the transmission has been done..on Monday i went threw a car wash and once i exited the vehicles engine light went on and i proceeded to drive and it seemd to feel like its starting off in a high gear so i pulled over immediately checked fluid seemed fine went to drive off..put it in gear and it took some rpms to jump in gear and it slammed in. So i drove back to AAMCO and left it with them and let them figure it out. Got a call back and was told there was water in the trans...they said they have no clue as to how it got in there. they asked if i submerged the vehicle in water and i told them we're in texas where am i gonna find that and they said from towing a boat and launching it and going in too far..i dont have a boat..so somehow someway water got in there..Well, since there was water in there they are not covering warranty on it..and somehow someway it got in there..i dunno if they left something out or missing or what but now im out a vehicle and over 3 grand for a trans that lasted me not even a month..SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT! I've called to AAMCO Corp. and they are independantly owned. Now, the vehicle is at another AAMCO where i know someone i can trust.. where they did a full inspection looking for anything loose or missing or possibly cracked they found nothing..so its quite obvious they left something out and when they found the water they found where it came and they fixed it or secured whatever to save there back..One thing i've heard shops like to take advantage of people driving threw from out of state..i'm from Washington State and cant go home now because of this, One last thing, ive found on a website 3 complaints directed at that specific aamco 4 including mine. You be the judge..im sure there are more complaints, I'm not shutting AAMCO out just that specific shop, there are good honest aamcos..and then there are ones that will over charge and luer you in..till your trapped..

You need to really check out the internet. Almost every state in the united states has
complaints about aamco not just lakewood wash. There's complaints in Shoreline Seattle,
Renton Seattle , Tigard oregon, Salem oregon, Oympia Wash. Tacoma Wash. Puallup Wash.
Everett Wash., Auburn Wash,  Actually washington state was on the list of states that won a
large lawsuit against aamco. Federal Trade Comission was on there butt! They had to dole out
a large amount of money to the consumers they ripped off. There is Texas, florida, Arizona,
California. Is that enough states for you to believe that there are complaints all over? Get on
the web site aamco lawsuit scames. It tells you all about these folks. There has been under
cover investigations. If you can find a good honest aamco let me know. Good luck with that!
