It was parked in one of the spaces that are in the pictures attached to ripoff report. We took up close and far away pictures to show that there were no markings at all that indicated in any way that the spaces shouldn't be parked in, especially after business hours. 

I realize that the loophole in the law here that they are exploiting is that this was on private property.  254$ dollars is a hard way to learn that lesson. Any respectable business would post signs if they are really trying to enforce a no parking rule. In this case it is simply a scam. Why else would the towing company have their office next door and have the cars towed there? This is a Scam that they have planned out well and are continuing to run year after year. That makes it even more offensive. We live in a Country that is based on justice and their is nothing honorable or just about what this towing company is doing. This is hurting people and taking what was a good memory of a fun night and making it negative.

I appreciate the person that left the tip on filing a complaint with the Utilities commision.

Just out of curiosity, where were you parking?  That isn't clear in your report.

What you and others who are having this issue can do is contact the Public Utilities Commissions for the state of Colorado and file a complaint from there. Link:http://www.dora.state.co.us/puc/trans/TransTowing.htm. The folks here are super helpful with trying to get everything sorted out. Worked wonders with me and my personal tow company experience.

The absolute towing company currently has a BBB rating of A-, This is absurd based on the ripoff reports and these dishonest business practices. It is important that if you have been affected by this that you need to file a complaint with the BBB so as to perhaps pursuade this company to start acting like honest American business people.  The BBB website can be found by using Google and you can even google absolute towing BBB and you will be astonished to see their BBB rating of A-

More details on my story

The concert was great at the Black Sheep Club and we were having a fun night. We enjoyed your club, staff and bands.

The night changed when our car was unfarily towed by a company named Absolute Towing from a parking space which was at 2304 S Platte Ave.

The car was moved to the building adjacent to 2304 which was 307
Prairie Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80909, (719) 465-3495.

I photographed the area my car was towed from, since there are no signs indicating that we could not park there. I checked prior to parking there and again after the car was towed.

The shakedown occured as we showed up to the lot where my car was towed and was told by Ron from the towing company that I needed 254$, cash only to get my car back. 254$ is hard to come by and risky in that neighborhood at 11 PM. I was told the person who authorized the towing was JD from the 23011 S Platte address.

Many folks were towed and very upset including some minors that had to call their parents to help with getting the cash and their car. This was very upsetting to me and my son who was with me. There was nearly a violent confrontation from one of the people towed and the towing operator Ron. This has caused undue worry and lost sleep for both me and my son. Also a feeling of being violated that is likely to last a long time.

So how can you help?

1. A small claims court case,
2. Reporting both the towing company and the owner of the parking
lot/business       at  23011 to the BBB.
3. Notifying the state congress/house representative and city council for 80909.
4. Notifying the state Senator.
5. Doing an internet Rip-off report.
6. Face book page campaign to boycott the towing company/owner.
7. Creating a compelling story for the local media on this shakedown.
8. Organizing other victims and giving them the tools to help stop
this shakedown.

As you can see my approach is logical and may take a little time but I would far rather take the time to do this so that it might be prevented from happening again. This is something you hear about in other countries and not in the USA.
