Auto Town Inc. Refused to return my deposit. Hollywood, Florida
*Consumer Comment: when you don't win in small claim
*General Comment: Car Dealer Deposits
I went to the dealership traveling all the way from palm beach county to see a specific car, I made a deposit of merely $100 of which the dealer did write me a reciept for and informed me I could get my deposit back it I decided not to purchase the vehicle. I decided not to get the car and he had promised me for months he would return my deposit once he sold the car. I notice on craigslist the car had been sold, I phoned him and he said flat out he could not return my deposit. I am a single mother on disability and he steals from me............what is capable of doing to others???

Car Dealer Deposits are a scam as old as the hills.
The sales guy will tell you its refundable if you don't buy. He lied, every time he did this.
The deposit is a promise to purchase and a financial compensation to the dealer for the time they held the car for you if you don't.
The only way to get your money back is to sue in small claims.
Good Luck
