2002 Ford SUV was solded 06/02/2008. Notified Continental warranty by faxing all information require based on their cancellation policy. I was informed by Ms Tereas, customer dept. that I am due a refund for $590.00 and it takes 12 weeks to process the cancellation so approx. Aug 27, 08 the check will be sent out. Emails sent to continental, certified mail sent and absolutely No response from Continental. They are one Big JOKE. I made a call to them 01/07/2009 and spoke with Mr B and he voiced how frustrated he is about refunds not going out to customers in a timely manner.

They are not paying you anymore to defend them. Why are you still doign it? Will you now admit that Continental was in the business of ripping people off? Prob not, that would make every comment you made on this site false. But who cares, "Welcome center manager", LOL.

Continental Out of Business

Lonnie,
You make no sense. You claim that no one should buy a warranty from AA Auto Warranty because they have no money set aside for claims yet AA Auto Warranty is no different than Continental Warranty, a BROKER! You claim that even though CW is out of business, the warranties that have been sold are from good insurance companies so CW's existence is irrelevant. How is this any different than with AA Auto Warranty?
AA Auto Warranty sells plans for Lyndon, Alpha, Consumer Direct, etc, all companies that have the same strength in ratings and finance as your beloved Great American.
For you to tell people not to buy from them after your company falls apart, the same company that you defend as different than the others because your so solid, it's like the pot calling the kettle black.
Than you go even further and tell people to go buy from the dealership. Wasn't that you claiming a few weeks ago that the dealership is the worst place to get a warranty from? They are over priced, the coverage isn't great, etc?
Make up your mind. And for anyone reading this, don't take any advice from Lonnie.

Continental Warranty Update 1-10-2009

Anyone reading this please take note of the following, I am no longer an employee of Continental Warranty. I have written many rebuttals and worked proudly for the company for over 6 years and still maintain they were never a "rip off". They are closing business, I have moved on to a different occupation.
The reason I don't feel they are or were a rip off is because if you have a plan with them it is not affected by the close of their offices. Please note:
If you have a Great American Insurance Contract you have your contract 100% guaranteed. For claims contact Premier Dealer Services out of San Diego at the claims number on your declaration page. To cancel or transfer or to have any customer service contact them as well, they are a subsidiary of Great American and have to help you out. So as I have said multiple times on this site, the product we sold at Continental Warranty was guaranteed no matter what happended to CW.
If you have a Lyndon Property Insurance Plan contact Royal Administration Services Inc for claims and customer service. For transfers or cancellations contact Lyndon Property Insurance and Protective Life insurance they are the backers of the plan. The contract is still in affect even though Continental is now out of business.
How do you know which plan you have, Great American contracts start with a GC, FC, CW, or GP such as GP10-164125
Lyndon plans start with a 386 or a 607 or a 835 such as 386-018912.
I know that Great American and Lyndon are strong Insurers who have money in reserve to take care of all of our clients, I urge you to contact them in the event you have an issue.
A suggestion from a guy who sold Car warranties for 20 years and now has left the field, be really careful out there, the main companies people are buying from now are US FIDELUS and AA Auto Warranty. US FIDELUS is Dealer Services out of Wentzville Missouri, they are headed financially out of business, having been sued by Attorney General's and having to change their name. Check out the BBB on them and as far as AA goes they have no reserve money so if they fall under unlike Great American with millions set aside for claims and cancellations, you would be stuck with an empty contract. I would only buy from the dealer's right now until then world economy is balanced back, at which time I will consider getting back into this industry.
Best of Luck to you all and I hope this helps.
Lonnie Pitts No longer a welcome center manager, but doing the right thing.

Closed their door...

Unfortunately, Continental Warranty closed the doors for their North Hollywood office this past week. The good news is that all refunds come out of the Seattle office which I believe is still open, although for how much longer I'm not sure.
My advice is call Lonnie, although he may not be able to do much. His extension is posted all over this site.
You can always contact Great American Insurance and speak with them. The number for PDS is (866) 773-6442.
