AutoMarketing Systems AMSVehicles withheld refund, failed guarantee Roanoke, Virginia

I was contacted by this company back in early May of this year (2011).

They indicated that they could sell my boat - guaranteed! They indicated via telephone that they had buyers waiting. I paid them a $249 listing charge. They indicated that they would give me an update regarding the sale of my boat within two weeks. I never heard from them again.

Meanwhile, I traded my boat in on a new boat. I called them for the guaranteed refund. They told me I would receive the refund within two weeks. Two months later, I called them. They claimed the refund had been issued. We compared CC numbers and the one they gave me I had never heard of. They promised to reissue the refund.

I called after another two months. They told me the Refund Dept. was running behind schedule and promised me the refund was forthcoming.

Two months later, I called again (today - 12/2/2011). I was told the Refund Dept. was having "Administrative Issues" and I was again promised the refund would be sent. Needless to say, I'm not holding my breath. My advice to anyone contemplating doing business with this company - DON'T.

I have issued a complaint with my State's Attorney General office. If you've been scammed by this company already, I'd suggest you also file a complaint with your State's Attorney General office. Help put these crooks out of business!
