I received and signed a Writ of Garnishment and Summons on August 12, 2016. I called Johnson Mark, LLC, attorneys for AUTOVEST, L.L.C, 866-356-3838.  I spoke with Alisha Page and she was debt collector.  I asked her what the issue was and she responded that she was collecting on a repossession  in 2014 for a truck financed by Wells Fargo. I asked more than once the date the contract was purchased. Her response was why did I need the information and refused to answer. I then asked her what she was looking for. She responded that she was trying to collect on $8776.41 balance awarded to AUTOVEST. After a brief dialogue she asked what I could pay. I told her $50 a month. The offer was reject and I asked what the minimal payment is. She responded $500 a month. I told her I could not afford that much and ended the conversation. I contacted  Wells Fargo to get information.

The Wells Fargo agent found the case number which was different than the one on the Writ. He then told me the contract was sold to AUTOVEST and transferred me to Alisha Page whom I had already spoken with without giving me an opportunity to ask for information. I again asked for the date of purchase of the contract and she was non-responsive. I ended tha conversation and proceeded to pay my bills. I discovered that my checking account was garnished for $383  by Johnson Mark, LLC on August 8, 2016. I was not aware of this and it put me in financial difficulty. My question is why was a Writ of Garnishment sent after the Garnishment was already completed. A retired Marine of 20 years this reminds me of how Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese and then a declaration of war was delivered after the fact! AUTOVEST is not a trustworthy company!!!
