This company is an authorized Husqvarna Dealer and provides repair services according to the Husqvarna Web Site.

As a homeowner, not a commercial custumer, I took two yard gas-powered air blowers, models Husqvarna model 125BT Power Blowers, for a repair estimate

Both items were not purchased at the business. I received a call 2 weeks later indicating that the items were ready to pick up. When I stopped by to retrieve the items, I was told that they were out of warranty and were not worth fixing. I was told to pick up the blowers - they were disassembed and handed back to me in plastic bags. They citied the OSHA regulation: "Due to the OSHA Act 1971: Tools not repaired with be returned unassembled." This statement is printed on their repair invoices.

I searched on the OSHA web site to any reference to this regulation and could not locate it.It seems strange - If I took my car to a repair shop and they could not repair it, they would return my car in pieces ?

After I got the two bags of parts back, I was able to put one back together and get back in working condition - needed carburator cleaner and air filter.

The other one was disassembled and upon assembly I am missing a air hose part, clamp, spark plug and several screws and nuts. This one needs an air filter housing and a new recoil starter ( cord broken).

Followup on Complaint

AUTHOR: Eric - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 18, 2008

The company recognized the problem with their policy with tool repair and acknowledged that the OSHA statue was not applicable anymore.

They refunded the cost of repairs and the parts that were necessary to return the blowers to operation.

They took the extra step to carefully notify their repair customers in
advance if the tool or equipment could not be repaired, they would return it disassembled and explain in advance why this policy was applicable and necessary to protect the consumer and the business.

I was completely satisfied with the followup from this company and would recommend anyone to do business with them in the future.
