CAN WE WAKE UP FROM THIS NIGHTMARE?
AUTHOR: Kearly - (U.S.A.)

At this time we are still working with the subcontractors that are coming back and requesting payment for material provided to built my pool. I found that not all subcontractors are willing to negogiate what is owed. It is like we are being punished for going with a dishonest company. Not too mention subcontractors that are so eager to push a lien on our property without giving us a chance to pay back. We have decided that the only way to get justice is to persue a lawyer on our defense. We can not offered to have Liens on our property, eventhough we have made good on our debt.
For those who had the work done in phases, beware just cause you paid does not necessarily mean that the subcontractors got paid, unless subcontractors directly.

Did you pay the total "upfront"?
AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

I pay 1/3 to start, 1/3 at midpoint, and 1/3 at acceptance of job. That is how I get the contract to read. Midpoint is defined. Is the pavers step before or after the midpoint?
$52,000 in 1/3rds means you would still be holding at least $17,330. If they are out of business now..
