i ddecided to do some online courses in my free time. I contacted University of Phoenix which in turn connected me to Axia.

Axia stated to me that my computer had all necessary equiptment to do the work online and i agreed.

Stipulation 1 you have to take a mandatory class 600 something dollars plus the two classes i wanted to take.
i agreed and everything was fine for two weeks then you could no longer log in to attend the classes. i contacted them and they said they had some computer problems.

then i goy a letter saying i failed and owe them $1089.00

Another dissapointed AXIA student

AUTHOR: Marcy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 31, 2007

I have got to say I have been and am still going through some of the same problems with AXIA as have been mentioned here. I have to say I lost faith in thenm as a creditble college because of all the issues I have had with them. I have contacted everyone I possibly could at the school and have fax in evrything I have ever been asked to only to still be fighting this battle six months later. My advice to anyone considering online college at AXIA is to find another school or even a local school. If you try the online classes at a local college at least you can go in and talk to someone face to face to resolve your issues. Thanks to this experience that is the only way I will ever persue a degree again.

Sorry Biased?

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 30, 2007

Sorry, I'm not a worker of Axia, or UoP, or whatever other codename they may follow. However, I am a student as I stated in my post. Jaimie you have taken my post wrong, I am not claiming Axia is perfection, I'm merely sick of seeing badmouth posts with little effort. "Jeffrey" didn't even take the time to at least correct some spelling, nor did he give any effort towards providing facts to the information.

I too have had bad experiences with consitantly losing academic counselors, and inconsistant phone calls, however not enough to make a rambling, incoherent post. Axia is not to blame for his problems with the internet, they provide information on their page about when updates are to occur, I'm sure you can atest to that.

As for your financial situations, pretty much no college is going to be the best. My girlfriend whom is pre-law is currently fighting with her college over costs of an item broken in her dorm (She was studying abroad in Ireland), however they want her to pay some of the cost. They have billed her 3 times, to spite repeated phone calls. So you see, its not Axia, its people.

There ARE problems with Axia

AUTHOR: Dorothy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 29, 2007

Although Jeffery may not have stated his case well or with extensive detail, he has a valid point. Axia College is a scam! Steven - Wooster, Ohio, I congratulate you for having a good experience with Axia, but I believe you are one of a very few students that has a good experience. The fact that being a cash paying student they were trying to force me to take another class, so that they could get my cash, is ridiculous. Also, there is no flexibility in the courses and most of the teachers that I had were not interactive (only with a couple of students) and did not have anything to contribute to the class. I feel that Axia is a waist of money for the education that you don't receive.

Axia Student Also

AUTHOR: Tiffany - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 22, 2007

My name is Tiffany from New Haven, CT. I agree about Axia's practices being un organized. I am fighting with them now. They are trying to say I owe a balance of 845.90. I dropped two classes a while back. I was contacted by a financial counselor. Who invited to waive my fees for the two courses I dropped. She stated she would enroll me into a program that would waive the fees if a finished 24 credits. I did that. I have been jerked around since then. I too was ignored while attending classes.

They were so very nice at first but after being enrolled for two years I saw the service go down. They need to be a little more attentative to the students. We need help and we are there to learn, but how can we if there is no one there that will answer our questions in a decent amount of time. By the time they get back to you the system has dropped you from the class.

Biased answers posted

I feel that Steven hasn't been very forthcoming. Obviously anybody that has experience with axia college can tell you work for them. I feel that jeffrey might be getting the blunt end of your words. I also am a student at this institution. My classes started monday, my experience is that they want my name on those papers and not much else. My enrollment councilor never returned numerous emails nor did she make a very good attempt at returning phone calls during the hours I let her know I was available. I am there for an education, one that is nearly impossible for me to obtain without the luxury of online learning. I will do what I have to in order to get this degree however, I don't doubt jeffrey encountered numerous problems during those first couple of weeks. I also agree with Steven that it doesn't apear that much effort was put forth in a 7 week time frame on Jeffreys end. However, axia lacks customer service and the integrety it takes to run a good institution. My best goes out to all parties involved.

Well let's see here.

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

Where to begin jeffery?

According to your stipulation 1 (Noticed there was no 2, so was a numbering system necessary?). You state you had to take a mandatory class, and two classes you wanted to take. The class you must take is Distance learning, which gets you familiar with online learning programs. Now past this I'm confused. You signed up for only 2 classes? What degree program was this? Not to mention if you go to AXIA, you don't get to select your classes until after you've completed all your core classes, so this statement is false.

Next, you say everything was fine for two weeks, and then you contacted "them" becuase of computer problems. Who is this "them"? Technical support? A counselor? Some unknown entity? I went to Axia and just to let you know if you failed every other person atteding would have failed on the same server, which I doubt would happen. The only trouble I ever experienced was a possible downtime of a few hours.

Lastly, if you had failed the way you stated. You would have been called by your academic or financial counselor and been able to explain your situation and re-enroll. They would not just send a letter.

Finally, by what your saying is their website was down for 7 weeks and you called once, and never tried to log-on or call again. Sounds alittle wrong. Anymore information to make the situation SOMEWHATE believable, may help your case.
