I cannot believe how many other people have experienced the farce of this company!! Why did I not know of this website before moving from Mountain View, CA to Minneapolis, MN. This company is the most corrupt company I have ever encountered.

Like many others, here is what happened:

1) Asked for contract in advance, wasn't given it and then when the movers showed up 6 hours late, we were rushed through signing it (and of course we didn't have time to read "Rights and Responsibilities as a Mover"

2) AY Transport??? We signed up with Progressive Van Lines and of course never knew to look up information on AY.

3) Quoted 2000 lbs initially; 2500 lbs once they loaded the van and when it was weighed...3500 pounds (one of our rights is to be given a "reasonable" estimate, and each person at this company agreed this discrepancy wasn't reasonable, but we were told by Rosemary that her boss didn't "feel like" giving us a discount or owning up to the mistake.

4) Charged for supplies for boxing things like our laundry baskets. 100.00 extra for that; when I complained the movers couldn't / wouldn't speak English and could not discuss our contract or services with us.

5) You call this customer service? Not once was one of our phone calls returned. When we asked to speak with the owner/manager over Rosemary, was told he refused to speak to customers; we asked for his name and was told "we aren't obligated to give you this information"

6) Showed up late with damaged goods (after holding hostage in CA until we paid 50% up front since we had complained and threatened to speak to a lawyer). We are missing some of our things and of course they haven't returned phone calls related to that either.

7) Contract is written so that we have no rights.

I could go on and on. I would really be interested in anyone filing a class action suit against this company! Any ideas? They shouldn't be able to get away with this. If anyone knows, post something on this site with the subject line of CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED AGAINST AY TRANSPORT and some contact info and I will be in touch.

AAAARRRGGGGHHH

Ripped off by Progressive and National

AUTHOR: Todd - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 10, 2004

I am also the victim of the Progressive Movers scheme.
I received an estimate of $4600.00 to move from Maryland to California. I paid the $700.oo as a deposit. The movers came and used a bunch of tape and packaging materialwich came to an additional 600.00. after the movers packed the truck, the asked for a tip and gave us a new estimate of 8000lbs from 4600lbs. The movers called me and told me they had a truck leaving to California the next day. I said, "Ok, ship it." shortly after, the same day, I called back the Progressive and told them to STOP the move, since I knew I had at least 1 day. The lady on the phone said, "Sir, I need a date." I told her I would call her back. my Girlfriend called 2 days later to find out if they can ship the goods to a local location. Progressive told us that the truck already left and was in Texas, which would of meant the truck left on Monday, according to Dana. I asked repeadedly to STOP the shippment, in which they refused. I told them to pull the TAPE RECORDING, due to the recording, saying that calls are monitored or recorded. They refused to review the tapes. Dana also said that I did not call to tell them to stop the shipment.
After the goods were delivered, I noticed right away that the first two items were broken. I
the final cost was 7070.75 and a weight estimated by them as 9800 lbs.

If anyone has any suggestions, I am with all of you victims, Lets get these guys out of bussiness

Getting even width the BAD people..

AUTHOR: Jon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 09, 2004

Why can't "we" the consumer have a contract
for the movers to sign, I mean all movers
to sign. I see time after time the consumer
getting moved and then comes the extra
charges, fees, what ever, lost, damaged,
theft, I know not all movers are bad, but I
know, it sounds stupid, but I get tired of
getting ripped off.If every one had a contract
they do not sign they don't work, this is
getting good, next time I buy a car I'll show
up with my own contract, to cover all the
bases,, well its nice to dream ain't it,,
do you think I'll be doing alot of walking?
I really hope you win your case,,
good luck to all of you..

Breach of Contract /Bad Faith

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 03, 2004

Yes, we have a contract, but Progressive's conduct is Grossly negligent. Talk about bad Faith...these people are thieves and liars !!
We victims are not bound by the terms of a contract that has been so severely breached by Progressive and National Moving Network.
There must be an attorney out there willing to take this on as a Class Action...it is a sure winner.Think of the punitive damge award when this goes in front of a jury !

Stop the Insanity ..I have to file a police report for my insurance company to pick up the tab

AUTHOR: Laurie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 22, 2004

Well a month has gone by since my move by these crooks. I have to file a police report for my insurance company to pick up the tab, thus I will end up picking up the tab in the end with higher Insurance premiums.

They STOLE my china, wine, computer, software, expensive cowboy hat, etc. The list goes on and on and now I can not get any response from the company on filing a claim. I am disgusted and would be very interested in in Class Action Suit against PRogressive or Nationwide Moving Network.

Fighting on the front lines,

#2 Consumer Suggestion

calling Lawyers all over MD in hopes of getting a response to start a class action suit.

AUTHOR: M. Chrissy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 15, 2004

To all victims of AYTransport/Progressive Van Lines/National Moving Network,

I'm calling Lawyers all over MD in hopes of getting a response to start a class action suit. I'm not sure where it will end up, but I hope there is a Consumer Protection Lawyer that would actually think our experience with these thieves is grounds for class action suit. The fact that I'm reading about elders who have been conned by these horrible people angers me beyond belief.

THIS HAS GOT TO END!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pick up your phone and starting calling lawyers. Someone is bound to say yes.

Class Action Suit

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 13, 2004

Hi Vanessa ~

We feel your pain - as you may know by now there are a great many of us that have been taken by these criminals (ours was in June - seems so long ago now). We all keep looking for an attorney that would pick this case up as a class action as well. Keep screaming - someone is bound to hear one of us.
