Bank of American Home Loans Servicing's Retention Department has been jerking me around since 2008.  Just when it seemed they were going to help me save my home in August of 2009, they reduced my mortgage payment on an interim basis and had me complete a loan modification pack. I've sent the paper work in three times and spoken to a host of rude employees.  Just today I received a FedEx'd letter from the bank stating I did not sign the paperwork correctly or my signature was incorrect {Incorrect or Incomplete Borrower Signatures ex. Missing borrower signature, Missing borrower suffix from signature, signature is defferent from loan documents}. WHAT THE HECK DOES IT TAKE TO GET BANK OF AMERICA TO HONOR MY LOAN MODIFICATION??????  I was laid off from my job and I'm doing my best to pay my house note and keep my home!!!!  I need help when are they going to take this seriously?

It sounds like you had to sign in multiple places.  The problem with mortgage documents is that you must sign, exactly like the form has your name printed.

For example if the Printed Name says Mr joseph r Blow, and you sign it Joe Blow, and do not sign it EXACTLY as the printed name says, it could be rendered invalid.

Before you get mad at the bank, check each of the printed Names, and compare them to how you signed, and if they dont match, then you can get new forms, and correct them.

Second, make sure that each of your signatures match exactly from one form to the next.  I know sometimes when we have to sign lots of forms we have a tendancy to rush through, and our signatures may vary.

I hope the bank is not trying to stall you though, because the banks really do not want to do these modifications.  They make more money forclosing, and reselling the property when the values increase.
