Received a check in amount of $4875 in plain evenlope along with 'claim' letter. Letter instructed to call and speak with Joe Martin and explained that I would need to 'WESTERN UNION' the government $2875 of the $4875 to cover taxes. I called 'Joe Martin' and he explained I should deposit my check and then call back for further instuction.

Following my instinct, I decided to check the bank where the check was drawn to confirm it was legite. The check was labelled as being drawn from a 'Bank One' in West Bend Wisconsin. I could not find any branch for that Bank in that location. When I input 'Universal Rewards' in the search engine, the only thing that came up were idential stories from others that had been scammed. In some cases it appears these scam artists are using other company names.
