Problem: The way Bank of America post items to your account, largest to smallest. They say its to benefit the consumer and also that it is what most consumers want. I dont believe it! I believe it is a system that they came up with that will be most profitable to them. Why not just post items as they come in?

My Situation was as follows: It was a three day weekend for the bank (the bank was closed on monday). Beginning on that Friday I made several electronic transactions with my check card, eight to be exact. Each and everyone went thru there was cash in my account to cover them. Then on Monday I wrote a paper check. Now this check would not be covered I knew this when I wrote it but I also knew that it would reach the bank at the same time as my payroll which was to be automatically deposited the following evening. The worst I expected was that it would bounce if it beat my payroll deposit. But Bank of America prove that it was not the worst thing that could happen. They placed the check in front of the other eight smaller transactions I made so that the check cleared, but everything else did not. By doing this they profited the overdraft fee they charge eight times. When in reality (my reality anyway) they should only profited one overdraft transaction fee.

I accept my part in this. I should not have wrote the check. But I truely do not understand how they can say that doing business this way is to help me. To me it seems that this is more profitable to them.
