Bank Of America Unfair and inconsistant business practices Lynchburg Virginia

I have been a customer of Bank of America for a little over 7 years, and had some problems with them but have not felt the need or desire to comment until now.

2 weeks ago I deposited my payroll check into my checking account and immediately received a credit of 100 dollars of the deposited amount. The following business day I received the entire deposited amount. This past Thursday I deposited my payroll check again and was told there would be a "hold" on my check for a week. I asked why and the teller at the window could not tell me or would not tell me why. My account was not in the red as I had a few bucks left in my account. When I went on line the following morning I realized that the day I deposited my check, was also the end of the statement period and Bank of America had charged my account a monthly maintanece fee of 5.95 becuase I do not have direct deposit anymore , which caused me to have a negative balance.

My position is very simple....why would they not hold the check 2 wks ago but deicided to hold this check...I get paid every 2 wks from my employer but this pay period I am getting paid in 3 wks becuase I can not access my money until Bank of America releases the hold on my payroll check. I live like most folks from paycheck to paycheck, and Bank of America has made it more difficult for me to conduct my daily business. My bills will go unpaid for another week until I get "paid now from the bank"....this is just not right. Either hold all payroll checks or none at all.
