A bank would say someone stole your pin

I live in Fla. Someone in NY went to an atm and pulled money out of my account. My bank told me my card was "skimmed" and someone must have made a duplicate of my card and pin number. Look up debit card skimming on the internet. I did not have to file a police report and my bank replaced the money within 1 hour of faxing them a signed paper.
So, a bank would tell you someone stole your pin number.

A bank wouldn't just say some used your pin number, tough luck.
A pin number says it was a card. My guess is someone you trusted knows your pin and had access to your card.
Did you call the police and report the theft?
The bank has records and video tapes but cant help you without the police.
